View Full Version : bin Laden recites Democratic talking points in new video

Bin Laden: "It has now become clear to you and the entire world the impotence of the democratic system and how it plays with the interests of the peoples and their blood by sacrificing soldiers and populations to achieve the interests of the major corporations."
He also commented on the two ways to end the war: "The first is from our side, and it is to continue to escalate the killing and fighting against you," bin Laden says, according to the transcript published by ABC. The second is to do away with the American democratic system of government (i.e. cut and run).
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070907/ap_on_go_ot/us_bin_laden
In addition to using the DNC talking points about "the interests of major corporations", bin Laden addresses the American people directly saying: "People of America: the world is following your news in regards to your invasion of Iraq, for people have recently come to know that, after several years of tragedies of this war, the vast majority of you want it stopped.
"Thus, you elected the Democratic Party for this purpose, but the Democrats haven't made a move worth mentioning. On the contrary, they continue to agree to the spending of tens of billions to continue the killing and war there."
"To conclude," bin Laden says, "I invite you to embrace Islam."
http://afp.google.com/article/ALeqM5jF-I3mpEsoYVjKQpyZgEH-BxV5Qw
Bin Laden also spoke to the ongoing situation in Iraq throughout the tape, heavily criticizing the Bush administration.
bin Laden says to the American people, "you made one of your greatest mistakes, in that you neither brought to account nor punished those who waged this war, not even the most violent of its murderers, [former Defense Secretary Donald] Rumsfeld…"
"You permitted Bush to complete his first term, and stranger still, chose him for a second term, which gave him a clear mandate from you -- with your full knowledge and consent -- to continue to murder our people in Iraq and Afghanistan. Then you claim to be innocent! The innocence of yours is like my innocence of the blood of your sons on the 11th -- were I to claim such a thing."
Bin Laden says President Bush's words echo "neoconservatives like Cheney, Rumsfeld, and Richard Perle."
He goes on to call Noam Chomsky "among one of the most capable of those from your own side," and mentions global warming and "the Kyoto accord."
http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalradar/osama_bin_laden/index.html
So to recap -- Global Warming, Kyoto Treaty, Noam Chomsky, "neoconservatives", American people mandating end to the war...he probably even mentioned somewhere the need for universal healthcare.
Sounds like Osama and most of the Democrats have the same speechwriter.

You forgot to add that it's been a Republican regime that has allowed Osama to run so free and easy these past 6 years. Why?, because we've been occupied in a Republican war in Iraq.

Not really sure what this has to do with anything, but I'll respond anyway.
Free and easy? In all liklihood, he's hiding in a cave somewhere in NW Pakistan. Now, you won't get any support from me. I think President Bush screwed up royally in the Tora Bora mountains and I do wish he would dedicate more resources to going after Osama, but I find Clinton and Berger to be at fault in rejecting the capture of Osama on at least two occassions.
However, I think it's silly to assume that the Iraq War is the reason we haven't caught bin Laden. And further, what's with your insistence that Iraq is a "Republican" war? Some 30 Democratic senators (including some of your beloved presidential candidates) and some 80 Democratic members of the House also voted for this war.

Good post but they won't ever accept any responsibility.
But how can they really? They won't admit it but deep down inside they know. Their side lied about Iraq being involved in 9-11... lied about Hussein's nuclear program... lied about the Iraqis stockpiling WMD's... invaded a sovereign country under false pretense.
All the time Bin Laden has been roaming around between Afghanistan and Pakistan. Heck Clinton got much closer to killing him than anyone else has and this huge fandango by Bush (while mostly in the wrong country I'll grant you but in the same general part of the world) has what a couple hundred thousand troops and still no Bin Laden?
Hey you know at this point I'm almost glad the administration is stuck on stupid. I mean I do feel sorry for the troops and the $10,000,000,000 (TEN BILLION) per month in taxpayer money hemorrhage but if this is what it takes to wake everyone up that the Republicans have got to be removed in large numbers... so be it!

If just a portion of the resources used in Iraq had been used in going after Osama, who knows what might have happened. As for the Democrats who voted for the war, you're correct, I can't countenance their votes.

This is really incredible. I don't think I've ever seen someone be so outwardly partisan. Let me make sure I've got this correct -- you don't mind 10 billion dollars a month and 3000 American lives being spent in what you believe is an unjust war because it will cost a few politicians their seats in the next election cycle?
The Democrats are no better than the Republicans and they have only proved that since last November. Their just more big government bureaucracy, more "Washington as usual", politics and party before country. The political system in this country is seriously broken and this kind of partisan hackery that you've displayed does nothing to help.

It's not hard... follow along this time...
I'm saying that the Democrats have done all they can short of completely cutting off funds and gambling that the insane brotherhood of Bush/Cheney might just let our troops in the field do without for a while just as they did with armor instead of immediately starting a redeployment.
The incredible thing is that 70% or more of Americans want this redeployment and the Republicans continue to thumb their noses at the country because they still retain enough votes to block Democratic efforts plus they have their buddy George standing by with the veto pen in case any positive action gets past their obstruction!
Bush grew this government monster not the Dems this time my friend. You own this one.
America wants change. They have good reason to want it. And they'll get their chance in a little over a year. Stuck on stupid isn't a strategy. Nail! Head! The Repubs will desperately try to blame others for their malfeasance and incompetence. Anything rational that the Dems try to do is spun and twisted by the neo-con propaganda machine until it looks nothing like the original intent. I agree America want's change. I want change but I have absolutely no reason to believe that the Democrats represent anything but more big government "Washington as usual" bureaucracy.
As I've said before, the system is broken. Washington isn't working right now. As such, I don't think it's a good idea to put a party in charge that wants to turn over even more to the government (such as our health). I believe that the conservative Republicans are closer to reality in their core doctrine of low taxes, small government, entrepeneurship and private sector job stimulation.

They don't have the votes to do anything but cut off money and you know that my friend.
I will say not all Republicans are on the wrong side of this debate. Hagel, Lugar, Warren, Ron Paul and the list goes on are trying to do what the American people have mandated and will continue to mandate through democratic elections until it's completed.
If the neo-cons have the rest of the Republican Party so locked up that they insist on shooting themselves in the foot... they deserve exactly what they're getting... voted out.

And you're entitled to your opinion. But I know the Democrats are not the ones who grew this current government to all time BIGNESS! It was the Republicans. The Democrats may well be able to take the power and "profit before care" out of the hands of the drug and insurance lobby... I don't know, we'll see.

We shall see. If America wants "Bush light"... wants to be an occupying force in Iraq forever... wants to keep spending their children's money at $10,000,000,000 (TEN BILLION) per month... likes the hypocrisy of a Party that damns minorities to get votes from their neo-con base while they themselves have had a rash of corruption and a revolving door to the gay lifestyle................... by all means vote Republican.

The reason this speech sounds like a political speech from the far left wing, is because it sort of is. The writer of this speech for Osama Bin Laden was Adam Gadahn ("Azzam The American"), a 28 year old american (who also of note, is the first to be charged with treason in absentia since the 50s) His writing is heavy with anti-globalization and other far far left ideologies, so this is typical of him.

I consider easing the restrictions on law enforcement so that they can search telephone, financial, medical, e mail, and other records without traditional warrants to be an infringement on our civil rights. Add to that, the expanding of the term terrorists to include so called domestic terrorists means all of the above can be applied to U.S. citizens. If that's not echoes of fascism, then I don't know what is.

Bush has aggressively worked to create a consolidation of power in the Executive Branch with only one example being the taking the court system out of the equation with the Patriot Act. You also have his obvious nationalism and thinly veiled dislike for Muslims and any country that is not in complete lock step with American policy. You have of course not full fascism but many of the leanings in more of that direction than before Bush for sure!
When you look at the definitions it's not hard to pick out some similarities. Good post!
fas·cism [fash-iz-uhm]
–noun 1. a governmental system led by a dictator having complete power, forcibly suppressing opposition and criticism, regimenting all industry, commerce, etc., and emphasizing an aggressive nationalism and often racism.
fascism
noun
a political theory advocating an authoritarian hierarchical government (as opposed to democracy or liberalism)

There's also warrantless searches of home and property, arrest and indefinite detention of suspects without charges or trial. Maybe not pure fascism at it's height but, without out a doubt, leaning in that direction.

of these posts is a violation, due to the fact that its always
seem to be the situation how a person reply, and to me others
do have the rights to react.
The TOS needs to be re-written in order to stop this so-called
non-tos bullcrap. There is a internet law about bullying, and as
far as I am concerned correcting someone on their comments
is far different then a debate.(You know who I am talking about
9Sub).
Stating facts and disputing facts falls under two different classes.

Right, thanks 9sublime. So what do our new partisan hacks Popeye and Reliant have to say about Osama bin Laden hiring a speechwriter who's salary is paid by the Democratic party?
I wasn't aware that OBL used a speech writer paid by the Dems. But, if he did, at least that explains why his latest oration was coherent, articular, lucid, and systematic. Perhaps Bush should get one too.

See what I mean. This is not on any topic. It's just but beat up on someone. It's all personal insults. You guys are leaving it up on the board and letting him just continue to bash away freely. No subject. Nothing to do with the subject @ all.
top gun, I believe your problem with me lies in the fact that you get your ass handed to you every time you attempt to argue a point with me. I have apologized for the slip and in a fashion that I could have predicted, you have neither accepted the apology nor told me to kiss your a$$. You are behaving like an old lady who has her panties twisted into a wad.

So far, I have not seen a personal 'insult' worth giving someone an infraction for. This is a political discussion and debate forum, its not going to be nice all the time, and if you can't handle the heat, get out of the kitchen.
I am not going to turn this forum into a safe harbour for political correctness crusaders.

9Sub, I love that saying...If you can't stand the heat get out the kitchen.
Heck Yeah its going to get so hot until you will melt. Especially when every
body wants to be right, and nobody wants to be wrong. I can't understand
why most of us are so-called adults can't discuss or debate without all the
(I am going to show you I know more) (Religion Bashing), and the personal
insults.
What's going on amoung us here on most forum sites is what's going on
in the real world (confusion & name calling). One thing about any debate
or discussion it flows in the direction that its ran, and if its not ran in a
peaceful manner then the topic is a wasted of time discussing.

Since the mods won't step in I guess I will have to address you at least one more time.
We've been over this before... you could never beat me at anything and you know it. Hiding behind a computer screen and winging insults at people because you don't agree... or in your case just emotionally sabre rattling because your position is either A) just plain weak or... B) ridiculous and already decided in the other direction doesn't make you smart. It only makes you look mean spirited, which I'm pretty sure is as good as you probably get.
On the apology... I didn't say anything about it because it obviously wasn't sincere . It's not about the dog v. gun thing (which by the way also obviously wouldn't be just a typo, it was just a childish way of acting out)... it was the overall needlessly insulting text when I hadn't said a word to ya.
On being old and wearing panties... I'll leave that for you to be the authority on. I really wouldn't know anything about it.
Avoiding you now but still willing to throttle you from time to time as circumstances warrant... case closed.

You know what, pale rider, top gun? It'd be really great if a third party would step in and examine everything that's gone down between the two of you and see if either of you "won" or if you're both just blowing smoke out of your asses.
I'd do it, but I have neither the patience to wade through all the **** nor the energy, owing to the sheer amount of it. I mean, pale, don't you get tired of winding up at this point where the people you're basically in an insult war with whoever you were debating? It's happened with Roker, Mare, and now top gun. It must be getting old.

I'm sorry but I haven't seen anything said by palerider that constitues a real insult. All the sort of stuff he's said is harmless and is thrown round a lot of threads, nobody else complains, they just get on with the discussion. Sure, the forum would probably be slightly better without them, but you are the first to complain about the 'panties in a twist' cheap shot which others have used here before.
As soon as real insults come out, we will deal with them. As of yet, I'm not going to turn this place into a ridiculously censored place.

topgun, I thouroughly kicked your ass on the abortion thread before I accidentally called you topdog. When I referenced you, it was to highlight the fact that you like the roe decision but were completely unable to defend it in any way and were unable to answer any of the constitutional, or legal questions brought up in regards to roe other than to simply say that the way I see it isn't the way the court sees it.
You like the decision but you can't defend it. You lost that debate because you were unable to defend roe in any other manner than to say that it was decided as it was decided. That does not constitute a win by any stretch of the imagination in either a formal or informal debate.
If you are feeling froggy, however, I would be happy to meet you in a formal moderated debate on the subject at a time of your choosing.

You are psychic now as well? If I didn't mean it, I wouldn't have said it. The moderators had already told you to stop your whining and there was no need for me to apologize to keep myself out of trouble with them. I apologized because it was a slip.
Avoiding you now but still willing to throttle you from time to time as circumstances warrant... case closed.[/COLOR]
Like I said, any time you feel froggy, hop on up. Or avoid me and snipe from the sidelines line an old lady.

Anyone who examined the content of our discussion would find that he was in favor of the roe decision but was completely unable to defend any constitutional or legal issues that brought the constitutionality of the decision into question beyond simply pointing out that roe still stands.
That doesn't constitute a win in either formal or informal debate. If you can't defend a legal decison, then why bother speaking on it at all?

Yeah, it gets a bit old, but then it always ends up that way with liberals and libertarians. They expend their bucket of spew and throw out their talking points and then their wad is shot. They are rarely, if ever, able to defend any of their postions on an intellectual level so they either throw out the "aggree to dissagree" line and run away or switch to personal attack.

Now lets calm down, go watch Fox News, maybe read a little Nietzsche, say the Pledge of Allegiance, you'll feel like your old self in no time.

I am still waiting for you to draw some valid parallels between fascism and the patriot act.
You are doing the very thing that I just said that liberals typically do. You claimed fascism, dodged the challenge to intellectually defend your claim, and now you toss out childish insult when you should be defending your claim.
How much more predictable could you possibly be?
