So, when it comes to giving both money, and time, which group is more giving, in general? Conservatives, or Liberals?

By far conservatives are the ones. Check a website out called fundrace, it is so funny that the biggest loud mouths from the left give practically nothing to their party or their candidates. They also give less when it comes to charity; there is a pretty good link someplace in here showing how much rich Lib’s DON”T give.
Liberals are very charitable as long as it’s someone else money they are giving.
Conservatives give their own money after they are sucked via taxes for liberal causes.

That is the most true statement I've heard! Just a funny side note...in my town here..Cincinnati..they just built a state of the art CREATION museum...it's pretty neat...not even just the fact of creation v evolution...but just the exhibits in it...are so lifelike it's amazing. Anyway...a liberal group around here is saying they want to build an Evolution museum right across the street...well, today on a local talk radio station..700WLW...the host was saying that it would never happen, b/c of that reason...the liberals who want it built, would never cough up their own money to do it. They want grants and special funds to make it happen, so it probably will never exist!

They will find a way to tax the people in the city and get it, they will be over budget and late on the opening :)

And then they will blame Republican leadership for running a deficit.

In general Americans are more conservative minded than Canadians and Canadians give less to charity than Americans do. I think this is largely due to the fact that Canadians maintain that government has a responsibility to provide for all citizens while Americans in general consider that there should be few or no social platforms for people to fall back on. The Canadian view is much more consistent with the rest of the world's view.
We Canadians do give freely and generously to charities which fall outside of what we consider our government's responsibility although not as much as Americans give.
It appears that Americans would have it no other way and Canadians wouldn't either. This makes it rather doubtful that Americans will even adopt a reasonable healthcare system which will provide for the nearly 50,000,000 people being left out. We Canadians for the most part find that to be a very sick and selfish attitude toward fellow citizens.

The canadian view is that you should wait eight months for an MRI, meanwhile you die. The american view is you get it tomorrow.

Your perceptions are widely at a remove from reality. The socialized systems all make a claim that they can't back up - they simply ration health care, eliminate the more expensive (and more effective) medicines, implement rules such as cut off ages for certain operations, and implement parasitism off the US system, such as the Canandian government negotiating lower prices for US meds - in essence they are being subsidized by american consumers.
