A California lawmaker wants to make his state the first to ban incandescent lightbulbs as part of California's groundbreaking initiatives to reduce energy use and greenhouse gases blamed for global warming.

I think that something like this should be a federal law. It's saving the environment as well as energy.

I would ask that the total cost be examined. That is the load on the environment by manufacturing the new type lights VS the ammount of energy they are expected to save over the life of the bulb.
In Technology, its all a tradeoff!

This is massive, but if nospam4me has a legitimate concern then I'm glad I'm all the more informed.

We need action either way!
