Married for 78 years...

Werbung:
A couple, married for 78 years, one 103, the other 100. And they still love each other. What a story...

Wish I met my girlfriend (and soon-to-be-wife) earlier in my life.
That's a great story. Reminds me of my parents, married 66 years and only parted by death, and they believed that they would be together in the life to come as well. I'd love to be able to talk to them again and ask if they were right.

I talk to my folks a lot. Turns out they were right about everything else, I'm going with right on this point too.

Married 46 years this year. And, yes, still in love, a different kind of love, but deeper and more serene. We met at my brother's wedding and he asked me to marry him within a week after we met. I said yes 3 months later, and we were married 6 months after we met. I was a simple little girl from Belgium, didn't speak a word of English, didn't drive, had never been in an airplane. He was 11 years older than me, an American from Montana, he barely spoke French. We got married in Belgium and flew out to California 5 days later. First flight, first sight at America, first English class, first child, first home. . .
So many firsts! What an amazing time we had! 32 moves, mostly international (California, Belgium, England, France, Colorado, England, Pennsylvania, France, Colorado, California, South Carolina, and now Belgium again).
I do not regret ONE DAY of my life with him. When he goes, if he goes before me, I will still thank God to have given me this love and this life.
