Apparently the GOP and paid-off-friends on the other side of the aisle are trying to slip the "trigger" trojan horse into the health reform process..

Don't be fooled. They're just trying to buy time to retool and disintegrate down the road. They don't want us getting a taste of the public option.

Oregon has begun her turnaround and gotten herself at least out of the Hall Of Shame. Though participants will still be encouraged to prefer other states, to shopping online there...all Oregon needs now is the governor's blessing and all that will turn around for them quite nicely :)

That is starting to sound like a conspiracy theory.

Just what is the Trojan horse that inhibits a public option?

The GOP being seated in majority again and scrapping the whole project silently. That's what they do best. Funny the very first trigger I saw was slated for 2013, the year after Obama's first [and they're hoping last] term is up.

Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out the plan behind that. The GOP and their MedMob buddies who pay for their gravy train don't want the public to get a taste of Medicare, essentially. They know how popular it will instantly become and how impossible it will be to undo once that popularity takes hold.

That is the entire intent behind the delay...the waiting.. We will reserve the wor$t punishment of all for those States promoting the trigger while appearing to look like they support the public option. Can't have it both ways. Don't like duplicity.

Are you saying that the bill written by democrats takes effect in 2013 so that the pubs can undo it?

I do hope that if it passes the pubs do undue it but I don't think that is the design.

More likely the design is that it was written by dems to take effect after P Obamas second term starts so that when people find out they don't like it that it can't be undone so easily. If it took effect before his second term started he would never have a second term.

This is exactly why its not going start until 2013. No republican has the power to change this, its all on the democrat side. They have the power and the numbers and they know enough to know none of them (except the ones from extra liberal places) would have a snow balls chance in hell of getting re elected once people live with the new system.

Exactly the opposite Pandora. The GOP wants the trigger, couched by the red's in blue's clothing "bluedogs" as "their desire". They know the exact opposite, that once the public gets to take Johnny to the ER for his sports injury and pay NOTHING as opposed to having to do without Christmas that year from paying deductables and higher rates, there will be no more cash bonanza for insurerers. From that point on, anyone who would dare to take this away [= GOP] from the public wouldn't stand a snowball's chance in hell of getting [re]elected..

BTW, see Congressman Alan Grayson of FLA slam the GOP's "Plan" for our healthcare here: http://placeofnopity.com/catalog.html

Don't laugh, Florida was removed from the Hall Of Shame for this man's singular bravery..

Republicans have no power, how on earth can they do anything but vote no. The dems have all the power.

We're talking about the trigger which is a time-delay for enacting the public option. Time-delay means we're talking about future plans. The GOP doesn't plan on being in the minority forever.

Get it? Keywords: deregulate and dismantle.

No I don't get it.

Are you saying that the Republicans expect to be in power and then enact the trigger that causes the health care public option to kick in?

The trigger is designed so that the Public Option will die by either:

A. Attrition

B. GOP dismantling once they regain more seats in Congress.

The very very last thing MedMob/GOP wants is for the 80% of the People who want the Public Option to actually get it and realize how nice it is. People tend to get really fussy when nice things they've become accustomed to are taken away...

The bottom line: no competition for big MedMob money racket. It couldn't be simpler to get..

I thought the trigger was designed so that the public option would kick in rather than die.

Are you being wilfully naive? Or is this just a parody of a dimwitted pundit?

"Gee, I had no idea that the date 2013 had significance"...as in...the year the GOP will [they hope] have the antichrist [if your religion is apathic profiteering] removed from office just after the 2012 presidential election..

wouldn't a trigger to make it not happen til 2013 be something written in the bill?

How can they pass a bill and it not be law for years to come unless that is written in the bill?
