....mass murder/suicide is this month. A tragic incident that shows what happens when leftwingers totally lose contact with reality.

On November 18th, 1974, Jim Jones, occult leader, and self proclaimed messiah, sent members from his "People's Temple", to Guyana to start work on the proclaimed socialist paradise of Johnstown.

Only 4 years later, the socialist paradise imploded. A lack of food, poor water supply, an inability to provide care, poor health conditions, and finely people fleeing into the forest to escape the Socialist prison.

When Jones' adopted son Johnny attempted to talk Jerry Parks out of leaving, Parks told him "No way, it's nothing but a communist prison camp."

Finely, after shooting the defectors from the socialist prison camp at the air strip, Jim Jones instructed his entire 'congregation' to drink poisoned koolaid, and they all died with only a few who managed to hide in the forest.

Now 30 years later... we elect a proclaimed messiah, and begin a 4 year trek into socialism. How will it end for us? November 18th is 30 years to the exact day that Jonestown committed suicide.

In fundamental essence, the two polar opposites for political organization have always been freedom and utopianism. The latter group has always resorted to state power in the same degree they are utopian, because most have never agreed with the utopian vision, so it has to be enforced with violence.

I always thought that the modern era of democracy, beginning with the founding of the United States over 200 years ago, was a way station on the path to a free society, but it always seems we are moving backwards, certainly with the last election it does.

We're reversing positions. Those that tried it the other way, see how it did not work there, and are moving towards freedom and capitalism. But the ignorant here, not knowing what the rest of the world went through, is moving towards socialism and tyranny.

We have to face the facts that the Godless and socialist among us, have succeeded in dumbing down and feeding off of the ignorance of Americans.

I just debated with a guy, supposedly in higher education, that used completely irrelevant data to prove his points... or not prove I should say.

Americans were shocked and hysterical over the "energy crisis" in the 1970s, caused by socialist policy. Meanwhile Soviet economists in the USSR were commenting on how that was normal practice there. Long lines, and gas stations running out of petrol, was the common thing. A normal result of socialist practices.

But we are far too uneducated to know that. Instead we still hang on to a belief that government can fix it, while ignoring Government caused it. That redistribution of wealth is a good thing. That government can provide something free.

Only when we start swimming to south America to escape our crumbling American Socialist States, will the idiots, ignorants, Morons, and Fools of America, realize the utopian Hope & Change mantra leads to disaster.

I'm ok with it :)

I am godless , whats your point? you think that because you have some religion you are better?

Jim Jones cult like personality seems to be back...and just like Jim Jones followers these guys cant see it either

EXCELLENT point - in my own thread, I failed to see the most obvious analogy to Jim Jones in the current era - the robot-like obamabots, with glazed eyes and silly grins, sheep-like and clueless, following the Botmeister as he prepares to destroy the last things of value in this country not already destroyed by the libfarts.

you forgot your tin foil hat , cake your crazy rants to steet with other nut jobs

I agree Palin is just like that.....

You think?

I have not read about a cult following with Palin or anyone thinking she was a messiah figure, and I know she has not advocated for more socialist "brothers keeper programs" like they did in Jones Town.

Its really kind of funny if you go back and listen to the interviews with those "followers" then listen to the interviews of the current "followers" of Obama......It could easily be the same people.

But if it makes you feel better to ignore it, that is ok by me:)

Jones was a bit differnt in his style, more Rev Wright type of screaming, but what he advocated for is much the same as what Obama advocates for. Only Obama has a bigger "town" to work with. Socialism wont work any better this time than it did in Jonestown.

I really wonder of those who lived through Jonestown that are still around.... how many of them voted for Obama and his socialist utopia

The kool aid term comes from Jonestown, when i say it Its becaue I think of obama "followers" and they do remind me of Jones "followers"

I would not touch the poisoned kool aid, but I never would have been a "follower" to start with either :)
