According to survey released late January [this year] by a data research firm called Yougov, about 40% of Democrats have a favorable view of socialism compared to republicans 17%. This should be great news for "Social Democrat" Sanders because if he can get all these people to support him he could not only get nominated as the Democrats candidate but also win the popular vote.

Should come as no surprize but should cause dismay to DNC. It leaves them out in the cold plus it drives the mushy middle rightward. Ergo Trump's surprizingly campaign.

Maggie Thatcher described socialism succinctly and correctly--and quite simply--

"The problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money [to spend]."

    How simple is that?
Anyone who has ever owned a bank account knows this completely.

But we must never forget--socialism is the crude form of communism.
    Communism--is the Enforcer of Socialism.
And--all forms of socialism must--and will--inevitably end in murderous tyranny.
    Read history--if you doubt this.
    And why?
    The problem is called--Human Nature.

Good old Maggie Thatcher, she certainly knew how to get a reaction out of people, good AND bad!

Yougov are a well respected service so I don't doubt that these results are pretty accurate, but I'm more surprised that people are surprised by the results.

Surprisingly, the only countries where socialism has succeeded are those not run by tyrants. They are also the countries right wingers never mention.

They are also, you forget to mention, small homogenous one race, often one creed, societies like Sweden or Norway where everyone looks alike and have a population of ~ 15 million betwixt them. And once their Fantasy Land is infused with outsiders--all Hell breaks loose. Sweden--rape capital of Europe. And living off their natural resources and still going broke anyway.

Wait until the muslims have 15-25 children each on a never-ending quest to out-populate you. And Nordic welfare will sponsor, promote and guarantee their own destruction. It's obvious to the whole world--as transparent as a Clintonian disavowal of guilt.

Of course, many Europeans now are carefully and silently planning Holocaust II of the middle eastern invaders--once again. And don't think for a split-second they will not do so.

Amazing. So the idea that they also have the higher standard of living, the higher average income, and are also some of the best places to live, means nothing. The Muslims are going to destroy that too. Then too, you call them "invaders". Just who drove those "invaders" there? Oh, and I doubt they will have 15 to 25 children each. That is another fallacious fantasy.

So, setting all of that aside, just how much better is the US doing? The right wing continues to want to ship all, and any, of our natural resources out of country, and we have even given our enemies our technology to use against us. Just how has "capitalism" served the greater number of peoples? In case you had not noticed the entire world is slipping into a State of Oligarchy, or Plutocracy, or even Corptocracy, depending on what you want to call it. And the Nordic countries are leading the way in alternative energy since they did not have that many natural resources to begin with.

In any event, it sounds like you support the White Nationalist movement similar to that of Hitler.

There goes that little cuckoo out of it's door again on the forehead.
I wish I had some idea about what you are getting at.
The facts are out there for those who wish to figure them out.

You are obviously anti-American and probably live somewhere in the middle east--as many here--do.

And like the good little right wing tool you are you don't prove what I said wrong, you just chug along in your own ignorance, as usual. How many times I will have to show you to be a fool is yet to be determined. However, I will joyfully do so.

BTW, it would appear that you are nothing more then a "pretend patriot" of the type Washington warned against long ago. BTW Johnny, did you ever serve in the military, or do anything for the country other then live off the benefits of being an "American"?

“All obstructions to the execution of the laws, all combinations and associations, under whatever plausible character, with the real design to direct, control, counteract, or awe the regular deliberation and action of the constituted authorities, are destructive of this fundamental principle, and of fatal tendency. They serve to organize faction, to give it an artificial and extraordinary force; to put, in the place of the delegated will of the nation the will of a party, often a small but artful and enterprising minority of the community; and, according to the alternate triumphs of different parties, to make the public administration the mirror of the ill-concerted and incongruous projects of faction, rather than the organ of consistent and wholesome plans digested by common counsels and modified by mutual interests.

However combinations or associations of the above description may now and then answer popular ends, they are likely, in the course of time and things, to become potent engines, by which cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled men will be enabled to subvert the power of the people and to usurp for themselves the reins of government, destroying afterwards the very engines which have lifted them to unjust dominion…

In offering to you, my countrymen, these counsels of an old and affectionate friend, I dare not hope they will make the strong and lasting impression I could wish; that they will control the usual current of the passions, or prevent our nation from running the course which has hitherto marked the destiny of nations. But, if I may even flatter myself that they may be productive of some partial benefit, some occasional good; that they may now and then recur to moderate the fury of party spirit, to warn against the mischiefs of foreign intrigue, to guard against the impostures of pretended patriotism; this hope will be a full recompense for the solicitude for your welfare, by which they have been dictated.” – George Washington, Farewell Address, an open letter to the American public published on September 19, 1796.

I served for 24 years as an officer in the United States Air Force, Strategic Air Command, 509th Bomb Wing.
How about you? I have seen more of the world--than you. And have full control of my faculties.

As to control of your "facilities", that is in question. However, I only did 4 years in the USAF. And as to "seeing the world", I seem to have seen more of the US as an OTR driver, and know it better. Not really concerned about the rest of the world.

Of course, that 42% has mostly never or only partially worked or contributed to the nation--in their lives--by choice.

Well, that is pure right wing *********. Kind of like saying 50% of Republicans supported the destruction of the economy by Bush. Hmmm, come to think of it, they did. They still try to blame the destruction on Obama.

Put your headphones on and listen. Go back with Bernie to the Soviet Union.
