The word Afghanistan must mean frickin lousy country in their language.
I don't think people realize that there's really only a razor thin difference between the Taliban and the policies of the elected government.
Recently Afghanistan's president Hamid Karzai colluded with clerics to keep on the books the law of up to 10 years imprisonment for women who leave their husbands even if they are routinely beaten and now even raped.
Almost no (and I mean no) girls are allowed to attend school.
A huge number of the Afghan people are on opium... it's even very common giving it to their kids.
We need to speed up this kill Taliban and go home project. The most we can hope for in this psycho place is to reduce some numbers of the most internationally violent... because the country as a whole is pretty much beyond redemption... and no I don't want to stay there and try and run it.
If I were Keith Olbermann I'd now be saying something like...
