Not really on topic... but well worth the read.

You're familiar with the scam, usually from Nigeria, that happens after you put something up for sale on Craig's List or Ebay. Somebody writes to you and says they will buy the item, and will send you a cashier's check or money order or somewthing. But their secretary made a mistake, and the check is for a higher amount than the actual price, so would you please send them back the balance in cash, along with the item you're selling?

You send it all, the cashier's check or money order turns out to be bogus, and you're out the cash and the item you're selling.

Seems impossible that anyone would fall for it. But these guys keep doing it, so I guess they must be finding an occasional sucker even today.

Well, here's one guy who was tired of the scam... and fought back.

Seems he put together a company selling laptops... or so he said... for the benefit of these scammers. He made the name of it similar to the well-known, legitimate brand ASUS Computers... with a twist concocted for scammers whose native language was not English. His company name was one they probably don't teach in foreign English classes.

And sure enough, he got a bite.

Happened several years ago, but still worth reading.
