Trump assails London mayor’s terror attack response; Sadiq Khan spokesman hits back at president’s ‘ill-informed’ tweet

“At least 7 dead and 48 wounded in terror attack and Mayor of London says there is ‘no reason to be alarmed!’” wrote Trump on Sunday morning, part of a string of tweets about the attack.

What the mayor actually said:

“Londoners will see an increased police presence today and over the course of the next few days —*no reason to be alarmed,” said Khan. “One of the things police and all of us need to do is make sure we’re as safe as we possibly can be.”

The mayor's spokesperson's response:

“He has more important things to do than respond to Donald Trump’s ill-informed tweet that deliberately takes out of context his remarks urging Londoners not to be alarmed when they saw more police —*including armed officers —*on the streets.”

Once more, our embarrassment of a president embarrasses himself with a tweet.

I read the quote, presumably IN context and he didn't miss the intent at all.
I understand the Lord high mayor wants to calm the citizens of London but his effort was a complete fail.
He should acknowledge that there quite obviously IS something to worry about but that he is taking immediate, specific action short, mid and long term.
You don't blow off people murdered en mass in the street.

Based on the fact that the terroist threat here in the U.K. is floundering from critical to imminent then screw the content or context of the friggin statement people SHOULD be bloody well concerned!!
We've had armed plod on the streets for years now and they've done a bloody good job but saying it's okay and don't be alarmed because there's armed police on the streets kinda misses the point. It's the same armed police there are no more police to arm!! We have run out of police - perhaps Mr Sadiq Khan could explain where these extra bloody armed police are coming from - context or no context people SHOULD be alarmed.
We have armed soldiers on the streets at the moment following the Manchester bomb last week and were told not to worry they were there to assist the police - context or no context!!!
Khan's an asshole of biblical proportions.

The embarrassing part is having a Mayor that seems to think its business as usual and trotting out the same nothing banalities that everything is okay and that we all stand against the terrorists. Comforting as a bowl of hot soup on a cold evening isn't it. Just snuggle down and it'll all go away and when the nasty men with bombs and knives and guns and korans have all had there fun then come out and go about you lives coz it's all okay.

Scotty is demonstrating a normal reaction to a decidedly abnormal situation.
Sure it's just a couple dozen dead in two large cities in a rather short span of time represents a tiny risk unless you are one of the dead.
This is a significant threat and to pretend otherwise is silly.

Jihad knows no borders, doesn't even care that much who the victims are (how many of their own gave they murdered ?).
The world needs to wake up and require muslims to take care of their dirty laundry.
I loved that Trump shamed muslim states into taking real action against Qatar, that's a start and wildly more than anyone has accomplished ever before.
There is a way of dealing with this other than a Last Crusade. Trump understands this like no one else has.
