It appears to me that the papers in the reporters other hand hit Barney in the face and startled the pup so that he nipped this reporter.

Yeah, it must be that Libs. Actually, Barney is the only member of the Bush family I like...I love dogs and all animals. However, though I have nothing to go on, it's not beyond the realm of possibility that he has been abused by one or more members of the Bush household. After all, Republicans are not exactly known for their love of animals..we only have to look no further than Palin the wolf slaughterer as an example.
