The city council has restated their position.
In the words of one council member: "To err is human but to really screw up it takes the Berkeley City Council," said council member Gordon Wozniak. "We failed our city. We embarrassed our city."

I completely agree with council member Gordon Wozniak. To prevent the Marines from recruiting at one of the most liberal colleges in the nation is completely absurd.
