Best Democratic candidate for president?

Since Bernie Sanders is running as a Democrat and not an Independent I am thrilled to say the least! I love Bernie Sanders, a true progressive and a real person who actually cares about not getting stuck with another Republican in office (a la Ralph Nader). He is an honest person and not your typical self-serving megalomaniac!

With Sanders I honestly believe we would experience some true healthcare and education reform in the likes of Australia! It would be an amazing true change.

On the other hand if Hillary ends up getting the Democratic nomination I would take her over anyone on the right without a second thought.

Another thought is that I am really sad that Elizabeth Warren is not planning on running.

In have flip flopped on this topic more than a few times. I still haven't found a reason not to vote for Bernie. That says a lot, too

Bernie Sanders is the only candidate I'll vote for in this election and I will write his name in if its not on the ticket. Like I said in an earlier post this morning. The menu all looks the same. Crap sandwiches and stable sweepings stew.....its all CRAP.

Bernie Sanders is most likely the best candidate for the Democrats this election, and I hope most people will realize this as well. Hillary is a liar and in my opinion she will say anything as long as she becomes a president. Sanders, however, is the opposite, and there's no reason for me not to vote for him.

Sanders is a buffoon who has no concept of what makes an economy work. I somewhat hope he does get the nomination because it would be a Republican landslide victory if he does.

I think he has the best handle on the issues with this economy, republicans have shown they have no idea how Economys work for the real people...Just banks

Sanders is a dream candidate for the Dems! He's an admitted socialist, and that's what their bleeding hearts desire! :D I hope he gets the nomination as well.

Banks are what prevent an economy working for "real people"???!! That is probably the single most idiotic thing I have ever heard - and shows a staggering lack of understanding of how an economy functions. Go figure Sanders is so popular these days.

I for one am sick and tired of the constant mentality among people that they are owed something. They are "owed" $15 an hour for unskilled labor. They are "owed" a job. They are basically "owed" the exact life they want to lead simply because they exist. Its complete crap. You want a job? Get a skill. You want to earn $15/hr or better? Get a skill that is useful (manning a fry machine doesn't count - its not useful or skilled). You want to live the life you have dreamed of? Go out and earn it. Stop sitting around complaining and waiting for the government to pass a law to hand it to you.

This constant whining from the left about inequality and fairness is absurd. Life is not fair - get over it. I wish I was born with the ability to throw a 100 mph fastball and play baseball in the MLB. Guess what - I wasn't. I didn't then try to make myself feel better about by attempting to mandate that baseball pitchers are only allowed to throw as fast as me to make it "fair." That would be comically absurd on its face - and yet that is what idiots like Bernie Sanders want to do with the economy. The idea that we can just pass a law and suddenly pretend the value of different services is irrelevant makes no sense - and can only be dreamed up by clowns like Sanders.

But fear not - if we elect him President he will promptly address the pressing issue of "too much deodorant selection" as clearly in his infinite wisdom he is much better equipped to make economic decisions than say the person on the ground who wants to actually have a choice and decide for themselves how to spend their own money.

And your statement shows why the working class that has a brain is turning on the republican party. You guys bitch and moan about the goverment spending to much on the poor and all that...but people start asking to be paid better and you cry shut up. Sure the min wage has not even come close to keeping up with inflation. sure workers are far far more productive....sure food housing health care and education cost hundreds to thousands of times more while the min wage is actuly gone down ....Just shut up and work for your wages that can't pay bills....And pretend like they can all just go and make six figures you know if they all just tried.. we can't afford 15 bucks a hour, but we can pay a CEO Billions.

The rich keep getting more and more, but one day there will be no middle class left to rape...and they will pay for it.

I didn't "cry shut up." The simple point is that if you want to earn more money you need to possess a skill that offers value and is worth more money. If you skill is manning a cash register then the simple fact is that your labor is not worth much of anything. No amount of laws, or feel good BS, is going to change that simple fact. It is basic economics, and the idea that Bernie Sanders knows how to spend your money and manage your choices better than you do should be an insult to your basic intelligence.

Again - if you want more money - offer something of value. I'd like to work part time and get paid $250,000 a year for it - but guess what, it doesn't work that way. You are paid based on the value your skilled labor adds to the company. If you want to flip burgers and expect life to be taken care of for you I have absolutely no sympathy.

First of all there is no CEO that is paid billions. Second of all - it is completely irrelevant what someone can "afford". We do not determine pay based on what a business can afford - we determine based on the value the employee adds. It doesn't matter if I can afford to pay you $15/hr if your labor isn't worth it.

The rich keep getting more and more, but one day there will be no middle class left to rape...and they will pay for it.

"Woe is me - life is hard - its not fair - someone please take care of me - I am entitled to a better life." Doesn't it ever get old always blaming someone else for your own problems?

The Rich get rich and the poor are making less and less and less....and the very idea they would ask to even hold even with inflation or productivity and you guys scream about how they should just do more...they do , and they get paid less and less and less.

Just paced with inflation, the min wage should be far higher...add in how much more work the average worker does today even higher...but its lower and with no change next year lower, and the next year lower while costs keep going up far faster...then you question why so many need help.

Your logic is horrible. Productivity is indeed up among various workers - but you basically lump the productivity increases in sectors like computer programming etc and assign that same level of productivity increase to a person making minimum wage - why? Am I to believe that the productivity of the guy manning the fry machine has skyrocketed lately - and therefore they need to earn more in wages? You cannot just assign productivity on the whole over the entire economy and assume that it equates to productivity increases among those making minimum wage.....well you can assume it- if you want to be dishonest about the whole debate (probably why the argument is made so often).

You suggest min wage be pegged but that assumes all other things are equal. They are not. Digging a ditch is worth less now because machines do it better cheaper faster. The world has changed as it always has so unskilled is worth less not more or even equal.
Everyone was given the chance to be educated and they refused it. Even a high school diploma would drive their wages way over min.
They made their bed as they say.

no if things where equal they would have to get paid even more. Housing costs far out pace inflation, so have food costs, medial is not even on the same planet....and again workers are more productive today then they where before....And yet the pay for most has gone down and down and down...and then you wounder why so many people need government help...because while companies make record profits they effectively kept lowering their workers pay.

time to end subsidizing big business's workforce.
