Bristol Palin's future mother in law arrested for drugs

I should have put a question mark after "future mother in law" because despite all the talk during the campaign, Bristol and the dope who impregnated her, Levi Johnston, still haven't gotten married.

They don't specify what kind of drugs...Actually if it's pot, I have some sympathy for her but if it's meth that's a different story....it certainly would add to the hillbilly rep.

Sherry L. Johnston was charged with six felony counts of misconduct involving a controlled substance.

Johnston is the mother of Levi Johnston, the Wasilla 18-year-old who received international attention in September when Gov. Sarah Palin and her husband, Todd, announced their teenage daughter was pregnant and he was the father.

Troopers charged Johnston with second-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance -- generally manufacturing or delivering drugs -- as well as fourth-degree misconduct involving controlled substances, or possession.

Troopers released no other information, including the kind or amount of drugs, because details could jeopardize an ongoing investigation, spokeswoman Megan Peters said.

As Shaman made a link to earlier, while meth is a problem in the mat-su valley, so is oxycontin. It is also widely known for producing among the best marijuana in the US and possibly the world. More importanly than the charges being made, it makes me wonder how this investigation came about. I envision three likely scenarios, where she found herself in this situation through a normal investigation as a drug dealer by randomly selling to an informant/undercover officer,two being the Governor was preparing the Palin family position in a future custody fight. Or three is some State Troopers in the know jumping on the opportunity to further embarrass the Palins...what goes around comes around.

In the meantime, there is much more to this story that has not come out yet, and who know if anyone will care even if she is aquitted at a later date. The Palinistas arent going to make any comments on the issue, so we will have to wait until January and probably later for many more important details.

Big difference. Oxycontin is medicine. Marijuana is a drug.

During those same 6 years the amount of taxes collected by the City increased by 38%. This was during a period of low inflation (1996-2002). She reduced progressive property taxes and increased a regressive sales tax which taxed even food. The tax cuts that she promoted benefited large corporate property owners way more than they benefited residents.

The huge increases in tax revenues during her mayoral administration weren't enough to fund everything on her wish list though, borrowed money was needed, too. She inherited a city with zero debt, but left it with indebtedness of over $22 million."​
