Chinas initiative "One Belt, One Road" is on track. Funded with 40 billion Dollar, China does a gigantic infrastructure investment, railway and highway, to connect China within Asia and to Europe and Africa..
Back in April we had the first goods trains leaving from the UK bound for China now - they leave from Tilbury through the channel tunnel and off to China.... the new silk road...hellavu project

For China this a way to expand Chinese influence at the expense of the USA.

Interesting reads:

Forty billion? Compared to the cost of the war in Iraq, maintaining the US military, and cutting taxes for corporations, that's influence bought at a bargain price.

Gee, just like what the US did decades ago.
Yup. America is too busy building walls and barriers whist the rest of the world is busy pulling them down.

Yes, and in the mean time, while the rest of the world builds those super fast highways and trains which reach the top speed of 300 miles an hours (in Spain and China) and over 190 miles per hours in Belgium, France, Germany and Japan. . .and that for as far back as 25 years ago. . .the US with its failing infrastructure and its lack of foresight toward the future is failing at building a safe "FAST" train that can reach 79 miles per hours!

So sad!

Eurostar from London to Paris 2 hours but D.C. to New York is what 4 hours by train - assuming it stays on the tracks and doesn’t hit anything!

Was listening to Trump yesterday saying that he’s going to implement massive new infrastructure projects; I assumed that meant upgrading from horse drawn carriages to steam trains.

He wants to spend a trillion dollars on infrastructure, which would be a good idea actually. A trillion divided among a hundred million taxpayers is ten grand each on average. Meanwhile, he wants to cut taxes on the wealthiest citizens, a cut estimated to cost about a trillion and a half, or $15,000 per head.

and that tax cut is somehow supposed to generate more revenue.

I believe in improving infrastructure, but I don't believe in magic.

Trump was lying as usual. There was a train accident here in the NW due to a train going too fast around a curve, and the automatic braking system not being installed because the RR's say it cost too much. So, Congress (Repugnants) gave them until 2020 to install the system. Now 3 are dead, and 100 injured. So, when Trump speaks of fixing the infrastructure consider what he has planned for the RR budget:

More on the above story:

This has been on the news now for several days, and there are three dead, and dozens injured. One of the issues being raised is the automatic braking system that has been installed on this track, yet not implemented. The RR says it is too expensive so Congress gave them until 2020 to fully implement it. It was supposed to be installed by 2018. Originally it was to be done by 2015.

Well, here we are now, and there are more deaths that could have been prevented. However, what has Trump proposed for the Railroad budget?

It just gets better and better. No wonder a group of baboons is called a congress.

So sad. . . The US is not only losing its advantage, it is steadily slipping to join third world countries!

That is what Trump, and the Republicans, want. A one world government led by the US, Russia, and China, with Trump as "king" of the US, and the Republican party as the controllers of the masses.

And I see Dog isn't contesting any of this with his usual "Love Trump or Leave" BS.
