I took this image of comet 103P/Hartley on October 8 while observing at Taylorsville Lake, Kentucky. It is currently in the Constellation Perseus, though you need dark skies and a telescope to see it well. Enjoy,

Coming toward us in 2012 THE END IS NEAR!

You're gonna have to choose a different obect. This one is a periodic comet that will reach its closest approach to Earth on Oct. 20, and won't be back for another 5 years. It's also only about a mile wide - not exactly an end O' the world foot stomper.
