I am so happy that Mitt Romney won the CPAC presidential preference straw poll with 20% of the vote. I was hoping he would win by more but I am just happy that he won. I wanted him this last time around and I still want him to be the winner this time around.

Bobby Jindal finished with 14%,

just ahead of Ron Paul and Sarah Palin, who got 13% each.

Newt Gingrich finished with 10%,

Mike Huckabee 7%, (oh do I hate the huckabump)

Mark Sanford 4%,

Rudy Giuliani 3%,

Tim Pawlenty 2%,

Charlie Crist 1%, (Was doing much better last time around, it was his cheerleading for the stim package that did him in I am betting.)

and 9% said they were undecided.

Two interesting things I found at your link:

For the third straight year, Mitt Romney won the CPAC presidential preference straw poll

I guess winning this poll doesn't mean much.

Just 55% said they were satisfied with the potential GOP 2012 field; 44% said they wished the Republicans had a better field.

You can say that again. Though being a Democrat...I'm overjoyed with the potential GOP candidates.

The only real threat I see is Jindal...despite his terrible performance of the other night.

why on earth would you see Jindal as a threat?

If Obama fails it will be the "not enough experience" thrown at him.

Jindal has less

The ONLY reason Mitt did not win last time is that god awful huckabump who kept running around telling everyone that mormons sucked and taking the bapitst vote that would have gone to Romney

plus Romney is great with money issues and we are going to be swimming in them by 2012 if we can even last that long

Jindal has something most Republican contenders don't have...he's extremely intelligent. In the interviews I've seen (he's on 60 Minutes tonight) he's actually impressed me...too bad he's not a Democrat.

Romney, will have the same problem in 2012 that he had this last time...he's a Mormon and the Evangelicals are hesitant to vote for him.

Jindal is catholic, that scares me tons more than a mormon

If no other christians run I think Mitt's got it

My big fear is that he takes Sarah Palin for vp

not becuase I dont like her but because everyone will call them
Barbie and Ken

Popeye can you explain to me how to make a poll post I want to make one but dont know how and big rob isnt here to explain it to me

yea we cant have those catholics in the white house.....

We have had catholics in the white house before
Kennedy was catholic

I dont care what they are as long as they have faith in a higher power than themself

but I think it was dumb to be afraid of Romney because he was a mormon and that horrible huckabump played on that with baptists

Yeah....that's who we need, in The Whitehouse....The FIGHTIN' ROMNEYS!!!

"Romney's gaffe occurred on August 8, while at an "Ask Mitt Anything" Town Hall meeting in Bettendorf, Iowa. That's where Rachel Griffiths got up and asked Romney if any of his five sons were serving in the military, and if not, how did they plan to support the war against terrorism? "The good news is that we have a volunteer Army and that's the way we're going to keep it," Romney told the crowd, adding, "One of the ways my sons are showing support for our nation is helping to get me elected, because they think I'd be a great president."

What's a CHICKENHAWK to do???

(Well.....besides turning his sons, loose, on the U.S. economy?)

I'm surprised they were able to get that many "conservatives" outta their hotel-rooms.

Yep, the fact that conservatives are the biggest consumers of porn is just one more example of how they are nothing but big fat hypocrites.

Those states that do consume the most porn tend to be more conservative and religious than states with lower levels of consumption, the study finds.

"Some of the people who are most outraged turn out to be consumers of the very things they claimed to be outraged by,"

Hypocrisy is the GOP..

Hypocracy is not just contained to conservatives/repbus.

And Popeye, you know it.

There are numerous examples in both parties to point to to verify that.

So don't go there.

Politicians - All politicians need to clean up their act.

It's funny, his religious background never concerned me as much as his policies. There are some religious groups I simply would not want in government in general, but that's not what bothered me about Romney.

Pandora, what does he support that you agree with?

Romney has been a big advocate of gun control.
He supports nationalized health care.
And was planning to blow millions on 'giving' each student in school a computer... which they don't need.
