As far as sexual partners my daughters were both brought up as their mom was. Believing in your own self worth, thinking for yourself and not letting anyone take advantage of you. That's how intelligent independent women think and what an organization like NOW works to help instill in young women.

As far as political figures both my wife and her sister (the former NOW Illinois State Chapter President) they both originally started out supporting Hillary Clinton... as did I in the earliest stages. I switched to Obama fairly early, right after Iowa... my wife by the middle of the primaries after we went to our first Obama rally. My wife's sister supported Hillary all the way until the end of the primaries. Then she as well as the NOW organization in total supported Obama fully in the general election... and for good reason.

And things went very well for us all there...;)

Thats great that Al Sharpton stood up for what is right, but I dont think letterman should be fired for what he said, he just should not say stuff like that again. Make fun of Palin with stuff like her accent or her and also or her seeing Putin from her house, thats all fair game. leave her kids alone and dont insult business women and air line stewards all over the world just to get to Sarah Palin.

I think only liberals watch him anyways so there is no need for boycotts.

Personally I'm starting a campaign to go after David Letterman myself.

I think he defamed and did great damage to A-Rods reputation. A-Rod wouldn't touch anything Palin with a ten foot pole let alone get it pregnant!:D

So let's all start a letter writing campaign to David Letterman telling him to stop running down super star athletes with these degrading comments!:D

Republicants are so in exile this is all they have to do I guess...:D

I dont know if its true but I heard that he knocked up some girl and did not marry her till some time after the baby was born. Odd he would make fun of "knocked up girls" if he did it to a girl himself.

Jokes about anyone are fair game if it’s something that fits them, but it’s really wrong when it’s just something mean. Example.. It should be fine to make fun of Sarah Palin saying "and also" all the time, or her Putin peering his head over her house comment. But she does not dress slutty and neither does air line stewards. She dresses like a business woman. In an attempt to insult degrade and hurt her, all business women who dress appropriately and all airline stewards were attacked also.

Also, kids should be off limits and if people did not tolerate it, comedians would not attempt to drag them in the jokes.

Well again, I do see her as a winner and Letterman as a loser in this case. He ate crow, and she can point to one incidence where she spoke up about her kids being talked about negatively. This all boils down to Letterman not making a distinction between Bristol and Willow. Whereas Bristol is fair game, Willow has been rather low profile through the entire thing. I have pointed out evidence that Bristol and Willow look very much alike that a mistake could have been mistaken.

Back when Chelsea was stumping for her Mom on the college tour, and was asked a number of questions about Bill's infidelity, I thought those were otherwise fair game, because Chelsea put herself into that situation. Much as Bristol has done the same. Once they are legal adults and put themselves into the media spotlight, the gloves come off.

Again, I think this goes back to somewhat of a selective memory. But she is not on the campaign trail like she was during the SNL visit. As an Alaskan I found that clip much more offensive than the other. Especially the "eskimos" and moose. She obviously didnt mind her daughters being referred to in an incestious relationship then, to the point she went on the show afterwards.

Makes this latest flap with Letterman nothing but continued political grandstanding. This entire scene seems to not be about the protection of her children as it is the promotion of her own national politcal ambition.

I dont think for a second she would let the sanctity of her daughters get into the way of her desire for personal fame and wealth. Reminds me of the parents of the Olsen twins.

I think the older girl is fair game when it comes to the topic of teen sex and birth control exc. but letterman has no right to insinuate she was a slut.

if you say a girl can not get through a baseball game without screwing one of hte players at half time, you are saying this girl is a slut. he did not have the right to do that.
