Demonstrators gather for Ferguson march, rally Saturday

FERGUSON, MO (KTVI)-The second of two Ferguson-related marches is underway. The marches are being billed as national events, organized by the National Leadership Coalition for Justice. Saturday’s march is taking place in Ferguson. Protestors will march from Forest Wood Park to the Ferguson Police Department.

There are plenty of issues surrounding this one. Did Michael Brown put his hands up? Did he go for the cop's gun? Is there rampant racism within the ranks of the cops? Were the first demonstrations merely excuses to loot and riot?

Did Michael Brown put his hands up? Did he go for the cop's gun?

All that was settled. He got what was coming

Is there rampant racism within the ranks of the cops?

what difference does it make ? Its everywhere else and nobody cares. All that matters is the rule of law.

Were the first demonstrations merely excuses to loot and riot?

All that matters is the rule of law. If people broke the law then they pay the price. Excuses are meaningless.

Except that the police are supposed to abide by certain rules and regulations. Harassing people based on the color of their skin is not acceptable.

It's quite interesting that the incident that brought up the rampant racism described in the Ferguson report was actually a justified shooting followed by unjustified rioting and looting, but now that it is out in the open, it needs to be dealt with.

So the rampently racist cops did comfirm to the rule of law and the rampently racist rioters did not.
There really is no point in trying to blame racist (racial bias to more correctly name it) for bad behavior.

Racial bias most generally does lead to bad behavior.

and, according to the Ferguson Report, the cops didn't conform to the rule of law any more than the rampantly racist rioters did.

Two different things:
Specifically, the Michael Brown case that touched off the rioting and looting was not an unjustified shooting. The "unarmed teen", who was plenty big and strong enough to overpower an officer, went for a cop's gun and was shot. Good riddance.

However, the attention that the incident focused on the town of Ferguson did show that many other cases of rampant racism and discrimination existed. Check out this document. I can't copy and paste, as it's a PDF, but it's pretty damning. Look at the bottom of page 12 and the top of 13 as an example.

None of this was behind the rioting as it was only recently.published.
Illegal avtivity on the part of snyone is not to be tolerated. Actions have consequences. Thoughtcrime does not.

Yes, and no. The people of Ferguson certainly knew what was going on before the Michael Brown case.

Correct. The problem is, the police were using fines for anything and everything they could think of as a way of raising money for the city.

As to the former; conjecture
As to the latter; is this illegal ?

Conjecture based on the idea that the people of Ferguson aren't stupid, and know what is going on in their town.

It's only illegal if you get caught. Now, they've been caught.
I very much doubt they know whats going on. Its always illegal its justba matter of whether anyone cares. Thats how you know people dont kniw as they didnt care

Apparently while policies that united left and right in justified outrage are to be condemned when practiced in communities like Ferguson, those same practices, when used to fund the budgets of major cities governed by the left, are not only justified, but are to be defended by the mainstream media as absolutely vital to societal well-being.
Or as a man named Orwell once wrote: “All animals are equal but some are more equal than others.”

So, give us an example of a city "governed by the left" in which the practice of levying fines in order to make money for the city, rather than to enforce ordinances, is defended by the mainstream media.

Talk about beating a dead horse. I'm sure someone else has been killed since Michael Brown. Another excuse for protestors to rally round and knock over another gas station, while ignoring the facts.
