It seems there is no limit to the possible uses for DNA in today's society.

DNA left at a crime scene has been used to snag bad guys for the last 20 years or so. But identifiying the culprit before capture requires the DNA of the culprit to already be on file. Now it seems that a composite facial sketch can be made, solely from DNA. This link explains that this technique has already been used to snag one villain.

If a facial sketch can be made, so can a complete detail of the body. Probable height, weight, build, eye color, identifying features, and even congenital medical problems.

Anyone have any thoughts on this? Is this good or bad? Savior of society or Big Brother? What are the possibilities for abuse?

I like the thought of bad guys getting locked up a lot. But does this cross the line? Is this like cameras at red lights? Does this mean we have officially surrendered another right to the Guv?

What thinkest thou?
