Another upset but not quite as shocking as the US loss in softball. Still the U.S. are world water polo champions and had been widely expected to triumph in Beijing, especially after their showing in the preliminary stages when they were unbeaten. By contrast the Dutch had lost their first two games before finding their form

It's good to see both Japan in softball and the Netherlands here triumph over the favored US squads. Anything that teaches the US and NBC a little humility I'm all for.

The US remains number one in total medals - suck it up. :D
