The English Premier League season gets under way this weekend highlighted by Arsenal's opener against West Brom tomorrow morning (4.30 AM Pacific time) on Setanta. Last year, Arsenal finished only 4 points off the pace set by Man U so a league title could be in the offing for the Gunners.

The new EPL season will be a welcome change from the jingoistic nonsense being exhibited in the Olympics. Speaking of which, I see where China and the US are running neck and neck in the medal count. Hopefully the Chinese can overtake the US, shutting Costas and some of those other flag waving announcers up permanently. For once, I would like to watch an Olympics and just enjoy the athletic competition without all the overt nationalism thrown in. It's disgusting and juvenile.
