Michelle Owebama is joining the nations fight against Obesity. I assume her program will be for "Leftist" only since the majority cannot stomach liberal programs.

I would like to help her even though none of my family members are "fat".
There was a time recently when we all were a little heavy but one looses weight quickly when you are out of a job.So, while her husbands solution to the Obesity problem is very extreme , it does work.
I note that Barrack is very lean , I guess the One Hundred Dollar a pound beef that he loves does not contain as much fat as his failed stimulus bills.
I suspect if Barrack insists on the same failed 'Jobs" program, same failed "Health Care proposal", same old same old everything, it will not be long before Obesity will be as rare as a job in the "Private Sector".
One last question, When the time comes where all working citizens are employed by "The Government", who makes a profit", who produces any needed product of value?, How does one become Obese?
In days gone by it was said Obesity was caused by the glue in "food stamps" but the glue was eliminated years ago.Now What?
Good Luck Michelle, as a suggestion , what ever your doing stop! and Barrack, You start doing what Michelle was doing before she stopped!
Working together we can win your fight!!

As I understand it, its just childhood obesity and the first step is banning certain food from vending machines in your kid's school.

So whats wrong with that ?

Do we really need to surrender more control (read spend more money) to the federal government ?

Do you not think this has been tried ? Schools put those machines in there to make money. Local do-gooders have already tried this and guess what, the healthy stuff did not sell and the cafeterias lost money they needed.

Remember boys and girls, when government wants to do something it always means they want to take a little more freedom of yours.

Careful what you surrender.

An interesting concept: make money off the kids. Why not sell drugs and pornography then? Condoms and weapons? Ammunition and alcohol? Wait--maybe making money by offering to sell kids things that are bad for them isn't the best way to fund schools. Of course I must be wrong, Capitalism is about making money, not about ethics, anything that makes a buck is jake.

Maybe if parents paid attention to what their kids are eating then we wouldn't have a problem with childhood obesity!!! I don't know just some food for thought. By the way we are free to eat what we like and last time I checked it was mostly local and state governments cracking down on things like trans-fats and the like. But I agree the last thing we need are the Feds to get involved. There is a reason as to why we have a food pyramid. QUIT MAKING OURS KIDS FAT AMERICA!!!!

If you saw the amount of waste on any given day at the local lunch room you would be appalled by the things that don't get touched on the lunch tray. Around here in middle America the pyramid may exist but the amount of starch/cheese/fat in any of lunch menus is disgusting and shameful...if the food isn't drenched with that dark glob of orange substance that is supposed to resemble cheese sauce then there will be more cheese somewhere else on the tray and a rolled tamale looking thing that smells like canned dog food but is supposed to be pure BEEF, or a bread stick with CHEESE in the center...loads of quick heat & serve Mexican processed food that even the Mexican children don't/won't eat and just ends up in the trash bin!
GREEN VEGGIES...HA-HA...fruit is usually disguised in a cup of yogurt so sweet as to give you an instant toothache even with perfect teeth and that gets dumped by about 80% of the children. School lunch programs are a disaster for the amount of money that they spend and the cost that is passed along to the parents...SAD, SAD, SAD!!!
