Gov. Blago makes Senate appointment

Well here it is folks. Disgraced Governor of Illinois has made the Senate appointment of Roland Burris, former Attorney General. Am I the only one who finds it slighty amusing that the man who is facing some serious criminal charges appointed a former AG?
Either way, this will make for interesting situation for the Democrats in control of the Senate who said they would not seat his appointment.

The gov may be a scum bucket but he is still only accused of crimes. The law says its his job to make the appointment. Its the dingy dems who are going to break the law by refusing to seat him.

This will end up in court and the courts will side with the gov. He is not doing anything wrong in this appointment and we cant make up rules as we go.

it is the govenors right and duty to appoint a senate replacement



the gen assembly of IL should have acted quicker to remove him
