A part of me was hoping Huntsman would actually win the nomination and go up against Obama... It would have been fun to watch Pocket pull a 180 and go from speaking kindly about Huntsman to berating him as a right wing extremist.

Tuning in Morning Joe today, I half expected to discover on the set some professional mourners imported from North Korea, keening and crying over the political demise of Jon Huntsman.
Huntsman had had the Morning Joe crowd from hello. The overwhelming winner of the bien-pensant MSM primary was amazingly popular—except with actual Republican voters, who didn't dig his moderate positioning and a tone that some found . . . well, how do you say "supercilious" in Mandarin? Taking today's cake was Joe Scarborough finding Huntsman's "moderate temperament" Reaganesque, and claiming that in rejecting Huntsman, Republicans have "turned their backs" on Ronald Reagan. I do think some of his tax policy is extreme...and I have said many times on the issues overall I really don't agree with him on just about anything...That said I think he would actuly listen to the other side...and be far more likey to do whats best...rather then what will get the most political points more often then not...I can't say that for anyone else...not named Ron or Paul...( who also I have very strong disagreements on policy...but like and respect as a Politician...

I notice not once did anyone that I saw...post some postion of his that was not Republican enough...I mean I am sure there has to be one..but no one could post one...

I don't know of anyone I'd consider a "dream" candidate, they all suck, but some do suck less than others.
1. Supports Universal Healthcare
2. Supports AGW theory
3. Supports DREAM Act
4. Supports Amnesty, in state tuition and ID cards for Illegals
5. Supports a "Living Wage"
6. Horrible record on spending (graded "F" by Cato)

I do give Huntsman credit for replacing the Progressive income tax in his state with a flat tax and lowering his states sales tax. I also liked that he supported lowering the Corporate taxes and eliminating taxes on dividends and capital gains. However, for everything I like about his tax policies, he has an equal number of things that are horrible in his tax policies, like confusing tax rebates, credits, and incentives with an actual cut in the tax rate, and wanting to raise cigarette taxes by 400%.
You don't win the Republican nomination by running on the Democrat party platform.

If Newt wants a Chance then he should do these 3 things
1.Eliminate federal gas and excize taxes.
2.Give states rights let them make their own immingration laws.
3. Get rid of the EPA and allow oil drilling on Americas soil.

you really want People to be free to come into one state with lax laws? End up with people who are Legal in 29 states or something?
There is Oil Drilling on US Soil...there is also...not enough oil on US Soil.
