I know your mind will never accept this but AMERICA would be much better off if ONLY PROPERTY OWNERS were allowed to vote . If this had been followed America would not now be suffering from the masses looting our National Treasure by all the Give Away Programs to those who are just to lazy to work . Or even gain enough education to become a source of usefulness to the society in which they live . Millions of our current citizens are parasites depending on the work of others to live . Oh , charity , yes indeed , we must take care of the truely sick and feeble and disabled but not one dime to the drunks , the drug addicts , etc . So , if you read the works of our Founding Fathers you will find they were very worried about giving the keys to our treasure to the masses. They feared America would become just what we have become, a source of money for the worthless and the Lazy . But we have done much worse than even they thought . We have become the lifeline for the entire world. Now how long do you really think American taxpayers can support the entire world of freeloaders ? They did not own property, they were paid in company script instead of money that was only good at the company store, they had to live in houses provided by the company with deductions from their wages, they had to buy (from the company store) their own shovels with which to work. They almost always ended up in debt to the company. If they tried to leave, the sheriff was sent to bring them back. It was in fact, a form of slavery.
