John Edwards, who has adamantly denied he is the father of former mistress Rielle Hunter's baby daughter, has apparently taken a secret DNA test - and it proves he IS the father!

Meanwhile, the National Enquirer has also that Rielle testified against Edwards before a federal grand jury that's probing whether he broke campaign finance laws by secretly funneling money to her - and her testimony could send the former North Carolina senator to jail.

That being said, he would have been better as president than Obama.

Edwards is more honest, less socialistic and has some legitimate experience.

We might still have an economy in the US had Edwards won!

I don't think Edwards is funny or the situation.
I just hope he acts like a father to his child.

Frankly I think the mom is pretty attractive, so I can't fault him for
making a common democratic mistake. So many democratic politicians do it.

But what I do fault him and the Democratic party for is the coverup.
They tried to pin the father on someone else hoping the paternity would
never be questioned or tested. How corrupt and stupid were they?

The allegations, initially published in late 2007, were denied by both Edwards and Hunter. Andrew Young, a member of Edwards' campaign team, claimed paternity of Hunter's daughter; although no father is listed on the child's birth certificate. The Enquirer's claims received little attention outside the tabloid press and political blogosphere until July 2008, when several mainstream media news outlets cited them in relation to Edwards' future political career, and his chances of being selected as a running mate in Barack Obama's 2008 presidential bid.

On August 7, 2008, Edwards admitted to ABC News correspondent Bob Woodruff that he did have an extended affair with Hunter, but denied he was the father of Hunter's baby girl.[4] Hunter's sister has publicly asked Edwards to take a paternity test to determine whether the child is his.

    OMG! "a common democratic mistake"?!?

Of course, only Democrats go cheat on spouses, as we all know.

Maybe he was really hiking the Appalachian trail.

As for the US "having an economy", ours wasn't going very well back in November, remember? Think back, remember, and think TARP, then tell us how the economy started down and the deficit increased only after the election.

Republicans do it too, whether "it" refers to being leches, or to spending money we don't have. It isn't a partisan issue.

Well, yes it's a Democratic mistake and sometime Republicans make it also.
But maybe they weren't really Republicans in the first place.

The loss of an economy is Obama's fault.
Once it became clear he would become president, business took heed
and the stock market dropped, etc. It was not a coincidence.

But even worse is the cover up we see the Fed, Liberal Media and Obama puilling now.

There is no rebound if jobs are disappearing, which they are.
The housing market and forclosures are getting worse in August.
Therefore consumer spending is not going to return until those problems are fixed.

This should not be a partisan issue.
Basically is the government misleading us about a recovery?

The answer is yes they are and why should we let them?

I think you underestimate John Edwards. Philnaderer though he be, he would have been more 'socialistic' than Obama, because he was a stronger defender of every individual's right to basic human necessities. Oh, I forget, there is no 'right' to basic human necessities in our capitalistic, welfare-only-for-the-powerful American state.

Samsara15 - I do think Edwards has socialistic tendencies.
But I don't see him taking over GM, etc.

Welfare does exist for the poor in the US.
If you were to examine it, you'd find it pays better than the average
US job now. Why do people even
choose to work an average job? Go Figure!

Well with Obama around the choice will be Welfare!

On average, low-skill households receive more government benefits and services than do other households. In FY 2004, low-skill households received $32,138 per household in immediate benefits and services (direct benefits, means-tested benefits, education, and population-based services). If public goods and the cost of interest and other financial obligations are added, total benefits rose to $43,084 per low-skill household. In general, low-skill house*holds received about $10,000 more in government benefits than did the average U.S. household, largely because of the higher level of means-tested welfare benefits received by low-skill households.

To be fair, this welfare problem existed befor Obama, but he makes it worse!

I agree that welfare is a problem, and has been for some time.

How, though, has Obama made it worse? What has he done to expand the welfare state?

One of the things he has done is change the rules. Clinton changed the rules that you get welfare for 3 years and then you have to get a job, obama rolled it back so you dont have to get a job to get welfare or have a 3 year cap. Basicly trashed the welfare reform. I think that is one of the things he did in that first month.

    Really? I missed that one.

Or was that unemployment insurance that was extended as a response to soaring unemployment?

I thought welfare was capped at a certain number of years during the past administration, yet there seems to be people who make a career out of it somehow.

Its been a few months but it seems like about 9 years ago already :)

I am pretty sure he did, there was about a days worth of ranting on the right but then they had to move on to other things.

Ill go double check it but I am pretty sure that he did.

I am at a point that I just dont care anymore what he does or does not do. I am sure I will rant about it just to let some steam out but its like a boat that started with a leak or two to worry about and then three or four and I put all my energy in worrying for those leaks and now there are more holes than can be counted so let the frakin thing sink and worry about how to get it off the bottom of the river later.

Samsara15 - Philanderer hardly says it. I guess that sounds better than cheater!
But he had a wife sick with terminal cancer at the time!

Rich as he is, he had many options.

But John Edwards is worse than a cheater! Cheating on your wife in this case was down right nasty, as far as I'm concerned. He had to know his chance of getting caught was high since he would be under scrutiny. Yet he was willing to put his wife through
    this crap.

Her last days on earth will not be happy, but then she married a Democrat!
It seems to go with the territory and she is not blameless herself!

The Democratic Presidential Candidate finally admitted that he is the father.
I knew he was all along, so add 1% to my accuracy rating (102%).

He treated the mother like dirt.

But will he run for president in 2012?

I hear Hillary is exploring the option,
so I don't think he has a chance of winning.

Seems as though you have this ability to lower your morality bar whenever it suits your needs and then twist it around as if you hadn't supported this 'lessor thinking human' when some other gossipy tidbit floats to that surface of the toilet bowl...**my suggestion**, flush more often and then you won't find those floaters
