McCain leads Ohio and Va.

    Ah, but look at the TREND in virginia - McCain is heading up and Obama heading down. Looks like it's about to get more "whelming", eh? :D

    McCain is within two points in michigan, so your "not likely" holds no water.

    Furthermore, McCain is also ahead in the florida battleground state - mucho electoral votes.

    You're right about the trend in Virginia. However in Pa., Kerry won the state by 2%, Gore by 5% and the latest CNN/Time Poll gives Obama a 4% lead....things look like they are running true to form there.

    As for Florida, check out the following link and you will see a scenario in which Obama accumulates 281 electoral votes without winning either Fla. or Ohio. It won't be easy, Obama will have to get Colo. and either NM or Nev. but it can be done.
