Let me rephrase, Cohen got convicted for lying to Congress and a number of other government bodies.

The point is that Cohen provided several exhibits - documents of Trumps lying and cheating. The Republican half of the panel could not dispute the evidence so their tactic was character assassination. That was a smoke screen. Cohen's documented evidence has much higher weight over transgressions in his past.

I know a guy named Trump who is definitely a conman, no question, as well as a pussy grabber, but who is this president Trump? I know there are hundreds of organizations with presidents, but don't know of any of those presidents called Trump. Oh, and there's a guy named Trump, also the conman mentioned above, who thinks he wants to be president of the United States, but, hopefully, the people of this nation are smarter than that.
