I kind of think this guy is an idiot. I also think that maybe Lieberman would have avoided all of the back and forth we are seeing, but it would have created an entire new round of back and forth. Lieberman also loses the base, which means you lose the election.

If anyone was trying to lose the election, asking Lieberman was all they needed to do.

I dont disagree Rob, and I think putting Lieberman on the ticket directly would cost McCain the election. On the lessening chance that McCain wins, look for Lieberman to have a critical role in the cabinet.

If he wanted a woman, why not someone like Kay Bailey Hutchison? You can't tell me she isn't more qualified.

You dont like McCain, You dont want McCain to be the president. but you are crying because he put Palin on his ticket instead of Kay Bailey.

You guys are attacking her with all you got because you know how much she has charged up the base and is appealing to indies. If she sucked half as bad as you say she does, you would be glad for the nomination. but instead you complain and cry about the nomination and attack it. That tells me she is way more of a threat to you than Romney or any others McCain would have picked.

Practicing a little amateur psychology? Throwing in some wishful thinking? look it's not just the left, take a look at what a couple top GOP strategists had to say when they didn't know the mic was still on:

    AMEN!!!

Kay Bailley? I wonder why the Socialists would want HER on the ticket... Hmmm...
Maybe because you can link her directly to Bush?

That WOULD be a lot easier than grasping at straws OUT OF FEAR over Palin.

She scares the CRAP outta the Socialists and the more they throw their temper tantrums, hissy fits and complain like stuck pigs... the more I like her!

    Exactly!

She is great, I like her a whole lot but they would probably be able to pull off the attacks on her.

This other lady is everything Obama "said" washington needed

young, fresh, new ideas, outsider, not in the pocket of washington blah blah blah

The attacks are totally reving up people around here, and I live in a socialist area. its so freaking fantastic!

I feel bad for the woman and her family but the attacks are helping as sad as human nature is.

I bet when I say obama is a maggot, someone sends him 5 bucks so I should quit calling him a maggot :)

Does anyone else sense the cornered-animal desperation? :D

for one, i don't think anyone should ever treat anything savage says with even the tiniest bit of respect. the man is trully off the wall.

for two, lol @ people who think there is anything resembling socialism in mainstream american politics. europeans, who in general are only kind of socialist, think we are so incredibly ass-backward. "socialism" doesn't mean "to the left of me." it makes you look so undereducated and obsolete. it's not the 70's, quit whining about 'pinkos.'

    obamanation-

as far as money, obama brought in $10m in the 24 hours following palin's speech-- after republicans bragged about getting that much in 48 hours after she was announced. maybe you should tone it WAY down. :)

and the reason liberals and democrats are all up in arms about palin is that she is so uniquely unqualified to be first in line behind a 72-year-old four-time cancer survivor for the presidency.

no matter which may you slice it, palin is less educated than obama, has less relevant non-political experience, has spent less time in elected office, ran a town of 5,000 with a balanced budget into $20m in debt in her time as mayor, attempted to ban books from city libraries, has held a major governmental position half as long as obama, has blatantly lied about her positions in every campaign she's ever been in, and as of a few months ago, could not articulate in any meaningful manner what the vice president even DOES.

    so... yeah.

SCREW what the euroweenies think - they are a dying civilization, and will probably be islamic republics 50 years from now. :D

Looks like the Bots are running scared. :)

She's wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy more qualified than Obama, and he wouldn't be in line behind ANYBODY.

Obama's polysci degrees aren't worth a bucket of warm spit. Obama studied it in school, Palin DID IT.

    Translation: she wasn't a ghetto organizer. :D

Palin RELEVENT (executive) experience 2 years, Obama ZERO.

She spent money for long-neglected needs like changing gravel roads to pavement. How much has Obama's votes run up the debt? Billions? How much will he run up the debt if elected? Two trillion dollars.

Complete lie - removing books from libraries is a lib specialty, as just about everyone but you realizes.

Held an EXECUTIVE position longer than obama, with his zero experience.

    A blatant lie by YOU.

    As if YOU'RE an expert.

Do you plan to come by very often with garbage posts like this? You're spouting standard Bot silliness, and everyone is laughing at you. :D

i know several people who spent part of this year in europe, none had anything but good things to say. the us is on plenty shaky ground itself.

scared, energized, whatever. as long as it gets obama elected.

specifics? i lived in a nowhere little town with an incompetent mayor when i was growing up, is he more qualified than obama just because he has "executive experience?"

bs in journalism vs. jd in constitutional law. just concede the point. we're already talking about experience elsewhere, it's irrelevant to this.

translation: she was a (bad) sportscaster.
    http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c186/simonquilty/sarahpalin.jpg

again, you have no ground to stand on here.

so why isn't palin on the top of the ticket, since she has more relevant experience than mccain? obama's been running a campaign with a $30m monthly budget and 7500 employees for a while, shouldn't he get credit for that?

she received $27m in federal earmarks and three times appeared lon john "maverick" mccain's list of ridiculous pork projects. i would hope she accomplished something. she still left the town with thousands of dollars in debt for each man, woman, and child. i thought obama had no executive experience, and was therefore was never responsible for a budget? oops!

like harry potter? yeah, the libs were leading that charge.

    http://www.time.com/time/printout/0,8816,1837918,00.html

oops, that's true too, wrong again.

did it already. is the mayor of peoria more qualified than obama? mizzoula? jackson hole? asheville? pebble beach? sedona? sturgis? clearwater?

that's ridiculous and you (should) know it.

like how she now says she never supported the "bridge to nowhere," when she really did? like how she ran for both mayor and governor as a fiscal conservative, but raised taxes both times? yeah, ok.

i at least know that the vp serves as president of the senate, and breaks ties there. based on the last eight years the only other thing i can think of is staying secluded in a bunker.

and you're at least as inaccurate, if not more, just on the other side of the aisle. and i post when i can-- as a 21 year old college student, i do often have better things to do.

I lived half a year there, and have visited about 20 euro countries. You can't tell me anything. Why don't you and your friends pack up and go there? Enjoy the rationed health care. :)

    Dream on.

Bots skip the palin as GOVERNOR part, because they can't deal with it.

EVERYONE knows a constitutional law degree is like super-poly sci, one notch above basket weaving. Now YOU know it too.

You should ask YOURSELF why BIDEN isn't at the top of the ticket? He's a qualified, experienced guy - your ticket is hilariously inverted - it's like Bozo the Clown giving orders to Einstein. :D

She incurred reasonable bonded debt as is the practice of every level of state and city government. Your boy wants to send us into hock for two trillion dollars. C'mon, shut up - this shtick makes you look foolish.

    Huckleberry Finn? Libs.

    Campus speech codes? Libs.

    "Fairness Doctrine"? Libs

When it comes to suppressing ideas, there's nothing like a lib - no contest.

You just can't deal with the GOVERNERSHIP, the typical last rung up for people who know what they're doing when they become prez. I don't blame you. :D

Oh.......garsh.......sounds like you got your version of poly sci from the King of the poly sci majors Obama.

How can I tell? You're flooding this place with sophomoric microrants.

ok, for one, that IS what the vp does, so i can't say i get why you're attacking me on that. i'm not the one running for the job, there's no reason for ME to be able to detail all the duties of the office.

as for the governorship, you keep saying that executive experience is what's important, not GUBERNATORIAL experience. you're saying that anyone, with any executive experience, is more qualified than any us senator. it's insane.

book banning: i noticed you didn't respond to my TRUE claim that SARAH PALIN tried to ban books, which you had claimed was false... just generic liberal bashing. and i'm sophomoric? (to kill a mockingbird- cons, harry potter- cons, beloved- cons, robert mapplethorpe- cons, free speech zones- cons... etc.. etc.)

still- citation needed on two trillion in debt... i've provided you with lots of links when you questioned my claims- you have NEVER done the same for me. so, can you please show me any nonpartisan source for that number?

finally- we would all love to go to europe, or canada. if mccain wins in november, i'll be applying to jobs in toronto and vancouver when i graduate, and i know a few people who will be looking to go to med school in europe.

what degree do you have that's so much more impressive than a jd in constitutional law? if that is a step above basket weaving, then palin's journalism degree is worthless except as toilet paper. all that field teaches you is to right so that an eight year old can understand it, it's pathetic.

    I thought you wanted Romney?

The bottom line is the base was luke warm at best with McCain in the first place. Sara energizes the Evangelists a little but scares the hell out of all moderate Independents.

She's totally not ready to be VP let alone back up a 72 year old man with a long history of cancer. People come to quickly realize the odds are really pretty ominous that McCain could go down. And then our country with all the lingering BUSH PROBLEMS is in the hands of Sara Palin!

I have to agree with Republican Strategists Murphy & Noonan when they watched Palin at the convention... it's over! (for the Republicans this year)
