1. WASHINGTON (Reuters) - An Israeli-Canadian lobbyist hired by Myanmar’s junta said on Saturday that the generals are keen to leave politics after their coup and seek to improve relations with the United States and distance themselves from China.

Ari Ben-Menashe, a former Israeli military intelligence official who has previously represented Zimbabwe’s Robert Mugabe and Sudan’s military rulers, said Myanmar’s generals also want to repatriate Rohingya Muslims who fled to neighboring Bangladesh.....

In a telephone interview, Ben-Menashe said he and his firm Dickens & Madson Canada had been hired by Myanmar’s generals to help communicate with the United States and other countries who he said “misunderstood” them.

He said Suu Kyi, Myanmar’s de facto leader since 2016, had grown too close to China for the generals’ liking.

“There’s a real push to move towards the West and the United States as opposed to trying to get closer to the Chinese,” Ben-Menashe said. “They don’t want to be a Chinese puppet.”....

Ben-Menashe said he was speaking from South Korea after a visit to Myanmar’s capital Naypyidaw, where he signed an agreement with the junta’s defense minister, General Mya Tun Oo. He said he would be paid an undisclosed fee if sanctions on the military are lifted.....

2. As a Chinese saying goes, "When you meet with a human, speak the human language, but when you meet with a devil, speak its language too."

The two-faced Myanmar scum generals' crude attempt to play the US against China is laughable. In the initial stage of the coup, they echoed Trump's electoral fraud claim, but now they claim the coup against the elected government was staged to prevent Myanmar from getting too close to China.

It seems that Myanmar’s scum generals have not learned from their national history that Westerners are not to be trifled with, particularly the European settlers who stole a whole country in the western hemisphere from a people who had been living there for at least 15,000 years. I suppose, this is what Donald Trump meant when he called on his followers and supporters to "Make America Great Again (MAGA)" during his 2016 election campaigns.

Myanmar’s scum generals also appear to have forgotten the successive three Anglo-Burmese wars that resulted in the creation of Burma as a Province of British India. After crushing King Thibaw's kingdom in 1885, the British imperialists exiled the Burmese king and queen to Ratnagiri in the far corner of India.
