Nancy Pelosi, the worst person to lead

Calidem is no Democrat.

I thought everyone had figured that out by now. She's a Republican that was going to jump ship because it looked like a woman might get the nomination and the Republicans were looking like a long shot this year anyhow.

It's taken me a little longer but I've finally come to that conclusion myself...Calidem is no Democrat

First of all, I'm a dude! get your facts straight!!! Second, I've been a democrat and was a Hillary supporter. Just because I haven't followed the messiah doesn't mean that I'm a republican.

Barack Hussein Obama has never accomplished anything. He has never won an election either....

I have a close friend who has voted democrat all her life as have her parents, we try to stay away from politics! This year, both her AND her parents are voting for McCain. Her DH is still being brow beated by his union & is a little leary just yet, you know how those union thugs can be...

I know a lot of people doing the same, and listening to radio callers talk about it happening in their family too.

Yeah those unions are horrible. I get call after call from my union asking if they can count on me to support the socalist mayor and the socialist messiah. I scream on the phone cussing up a storm that I would rather have my head cut off than vote for thier messiah exc. blah blah. I get less calls now :)

BigRob;63987]I am not sure this is how it will be viewed. Most democrats are upset that nothing got done.

Don't get me wrong I agree most Democrats want to get something done. I'm just saying if they have to do it mostly themselves they'll go with new legislation that adds back the ability of the bankruptcy courts to renegotiate terms for the regular guy loosing his home also.

If the economy does not tank then they have lost their entire argument on the economy. They are coming out agreeing that a bailout needs to take place, if the economy remains sound, they have lost the argument.

But the argument wasn't even started by them. They are going along with WHITE HOUSE and the Republican administration economic heads of the Treasury & the Fed. If the economy doesn't tank (which I think it will) then the Dems just say... see the Republicans are lying to us all again just like they did on Iraq.

The Dems are in a position of... if you want our help then take it.

I am also surprised to hear you say this, since more than $1,000,000,000,000 dollars in assets vanished this afternoon, most of those belonging to the average working person in their retirement plans.

And I wish the Republicans who were the major players in the set up of this economic crisis would do their part and come up with the votes they had promised. The Dems came through big with 141 votes... the Republicans only a messily 66. It's a do your part or quit complaining moment here.

I am glad to see if a depression hits your plan is to sit back and play the blame game.

Look my friend Republicans have to take the lion's share of the responsibility here for the problem in the first place. Now the Republican President comes to us crying our economy is failing help me. And you want us to fix it over the objections of the Republicans themselves.

You must see the illogical nature of saying just fix it under these ludicrous circumstances.

The reason many Republicans refused to support the bailout is because they were not allowed any debate on their own plans, and then Pelosi gave a Bush bashing speech right before the vote, and at the same time, democratic strategists were actually saying they would use the Republican votes against them in the election.

First off it's the Republican Treasury Secretary & Fed Chairman that said the Republican proposals would not fix the problem. That's your problem.

Secondly if getting your "feelings hurt" by a speech causes you to vote against your countries best interest then you're just lame. I'm assuming you are saying 12 Republicans yet to be named are lame. I've watched speeches on the floor of the House & Senate that make what Pelosi said look like a Kum By Ya moment.

Big shock it flopped. Coming to the floor, the Democrats thought they had the votes, and they were shocked when it did not pass. I called a friend on mine on the Hill and Democrats were "twisting arms" as he put it to try to get people to change their votes, and they left the voting open for over half an hour to try to pull it off at the last minute.

Democrats were not thinking this would fail by any stretch as you assume.

I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about??? I never said the Dems didn't think it would pass. I said if the Republicans don't want to be part of the solution that the Republican President, the Treasury Secretary, and the Republican Fed Chairman have asked for as critical... then it's they who are the spoiler. The Republicans have to step up. Simple as that.

Following the failure of the bailout bill, Barney Frank was asked about Republicans blaming Nancy Pelosi and a speech she gave for it failing:

“We don’t believe they had the votes and I think they are covering up the embarrassment of not having the votes. But think about this: somebody hurt my feelings so I will punish the country. I mean that’s hardly plausible. And there were twelve Republicans who were ready to stand up for the economic interest of America but not if anybody insulted them. I’ll make an offer: Give me those twelve people’s names and I will go talk uncharacteristically nicely to them and tell them what wonderful people they are, and maybe they’ll now think about the country.”

Yeah, this is the same guy who opposed more regulation on Fannie mae and Freddie mac when republicans saw the writing on the wall 4 years ago. They also held a congressional meeting on Mr. RAINES. a member of Obama's Vetting committee...

What do you have to say about that Popeye?

Do you ever tire of looking like a jackass? :D

The republicans had little to do with it - the causes have been laid out here so even YOU would be able to understand - you've shown repeatedly you have no understanding of economics, nor the the relevent policy decisons which led up to the problem, all caused by democrats. Instead of sucking that in, you just clutter up the forum with your dimwit political mantras.

The Republicans have been the kings of deregulation, why no outrage from you on that? Lets see...you don't like the Democratic party's standard bearer and you dislike the party's leadership in Congress all the while defending Republicans. Sorry but by definition you are not a Democrat. Call yourself what you wish but you fool no one.

Meanwhile lets take a look at Obama's take on the economy in an effective new ad.

I know this is the easiest way to blame to current president. I'm not a Bush supporter and he does have a lot to do in this mess we're in. However, your candidate Obama has always shy away from the real issues and prefers to vote present when his name is on the line.

I've already presented proof to you of the mistakes that the Democrats have made in congress.

TELL ME ONE THING THAT OBAMA HAS ACCOMPLISHED EITHER IN THE STATE SENATE OR IN THE U.S. SENATE????

You so don't have your facts straight. When Republican Phil Graham authored and all the Republicans pushed as gospel deregulation they had full veto proof control over both Houses of Congress. It becomes pretty much go along for the ride when you're that out numbered as things are often bundled together in a package and it's all or none.

Within just a couple months of Barney Frank getting his committee leadership position in 2007 he started pushing for more regulation to avoid many of the problems we are now encountering.

Been isn't is... and I must say I'm bettin' you were piss poor at it even when you were.

You're ridiculous. Bush and the Republicans CLEARLY created this problem. They and John McCain up to just a few weeks ago were still singing the praises of deregulation and were all saying our economy was strong.

And attacking a kind and intelligent Family Man & Father like Senator Obama makes you look small. You simply don't understand politics in the Illinois State Senate. There it is a VERY common practice from both sides of the isle to vote only present if a piece of legislation was not 100% in line with your position or had add on amendments that you disagreed with.

Your hate for Senator Obama because he got the nomination over Hillary Clinton makes you petty.

As far as legislation you can easily go to Senator Obama's website and pull it all up anytime you like.

And if you must bloviate over legislation debacles let's not forget because those of us in Ohio certainly don't that the Clintons, Hillary included, pushed through and highly praised NAFTA which has been a disaster for many industrial Midwest states like ours.

Give it a rest dude because one thing is crystal clear. Take everything else out and just boil it down to real proven intelligence and better policy... and Senator Obama is more than Light Years above John McSame!
