Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck are the undisputed standard-bearers for true conservatives, and they've just led a suicidal attack in upstate New York in what's become "a riotous and bloody national GOP civil war." For Frank Rich, there's only one sure outcome: 'Republicans are the sure losers" in a battle that proves "how swiftly the right has devolved into a wacky, paranoid cult that is as eager to eat its own as it is to destroy Obama.

In their {GOP's} rabid attack dog mentality since the election of 2008, they seem so lost and disconnected that they can't find a base/foundation to collectively rally around they feed off of each others discontent and seething hatred of the opposition. Highly energized by the mind set/ILK of the: Glen Beck's & Rush Limbaugh's of this world ;)

Radio talk show hosts appear to be the "leader" of these lost souls.
