President elect Obama recorded the “Democratic Radio Address” using video as well as audio...doing so is a first for a president or president-elect. That's right folks, another first for our fine new President to be.

In the message, Obama urges Congress to “pass at least a down-payment on a rescue plan that will create jobs, relieve the squeeze on families, and help get the economy growing again.”

Sounds like he is trying to put pressure on Congress to send a stimulus to Bush in the lame duck session that starts next week.

He looks like he aged 10 years in 2 weeks. What happened to him? Did he find out that the job is too hard for him....LOL

ooooooooo - great! Now someone tell the turkey that television has been operating in the US since 1940.

Next, someone should tell him Keynsian economics has been discredited for twenty years.

So he wants to spend more money? Popeye, didn't you complain about how the republicans were over spending? What about Obama? Don't you care he wants to increase deficits and the national debt? What's your excuse Popeye? Speak up!

ITs differernt, its always ok when democrats spend to much, and there is lots more to spend.

Cutting is bad when its done by a republcan too. but when dems do it, its responsible...

Not that I'm surprised, but you're missing the point. This was a Democratic RADIO address using video as well....doing so is a first for a president or president-elect.

In the old days (before Obama), the traditional address consisted of radio only. As president, Obama plans to continue to use audio as well as video to deliver the weekly messages.

I complained about the Republican's over spending in the context of GOP attempts to package itself as fiscally conservative....that's hypocritical but then hypocrisy is a GOP trademark.

So is it OK to overspend?

Oh, I doubt many in this nation or worldwide think this job will be too hard for him....only those who hate american workers as the republican leadership have shown could stand in his way..and I don't think the majority of the American people will allow that to happen.

As to aging, I don't see it at all.

Perhaps a more adept question to this post_Bush fiscal disaster is WHAT is okay to spend on now?

Bush was blasted for years for "spending us into bankruptcy." But now it is OK to "spend" even more than Bush to counter act "spending us into bankruptcy?"

Spending is spending regardless of what it is spent on. We cannot either afford it or we cannot. Which is it?

Bush spent it making the upper 1% richer...and the rest of us destitute..almost daily.

To get this economy going is going to need the uplifting of Americans.and the return to the 1990's taxes of the rich....How would you help the 95% of Americans Bush and McCain ignored by giving tax incentives to take their jobs overseas and reducing competition in the market place in this nation?

The Bush tax cuts helped everyone. Aside from that, spending is spending.

So really you are OK with Bush's massive spending, you just want it targeted towards you, and the whole idea of "we cannot afford it etc etc" was really just a big political smoke screen?

YOU missed the point. Audio plus video has already existed for decades - it's called TELEVISION. What could possibly be gained by clumsily cobbling together the same two signals, when that's readily available as TV? :D
