There's a very-good-chance we'll recover the respect, we lost, while Cowboy Georgie was playin' John Wayne.

"Change has come"

Time will tell, and I have nothing but optimism for the USA because of these elections. Obama; his team and the American voters have, in one single night managed to change global opinion of their country to an incredible degree. The first change of many one hopes. To see such vibrancy from the electorate is truly inspiring, a proud day for all on many levels. I'm proud to see such an historic election result take place in my lifetime.

Congratulations to the American People."

Everyone will respect our big fat ASS except for half of America ;)

that is American Socialist States for those who think I am just cussing

You're attitude is soooo weak. I like the fact that the majority of the American people really sent a mandate to President-elect Obama kinda b1tch slappin' all your gutter politics around... but still I'd have expected you to maybe show just a little more respect and get somewhat back into the factual world. ;)

Top Gun

It is not disrespectful to say that there is a portion of our country who does not want this type of "change"

I am actually with you, I am very glad that he won big and has a mandate. I fully hope that he impliments every single idea that he wants to do. i hope no one can get in his way, I hope no one can stop him. I want to see what he will do, I think it will be good for us.

I know for a fact that since he has won (last night) I have shown more respect than you have ever shown for the current president, the nominee or any republican or conservative in general.

I can not pretend to like this, of course I do not and (for now) I have a right to say I dont like it, but I am at least happy for you, and happy for your guy and i do hope he can achieve every single plan he has in mind between now and the next 4 years,

actually If i had my way he would start tomorrow and bush would go back to texas. I want to get it started ASAP

I did not know you four years ago or eight, but from knowing you here, I know that I have shown more respect than you could have ever shown to bush or bush supporters. I think that the anti obama people on this board has for the last 2 weeks shown more respect than the obama people have actually

.....And, the disappointments (for them) just keep-piling-ON!!! :p

"Israeli-US relations face "a bright future", Ygal Palmor, a spokesman for Israel's foreign ministry, said in reaction to Obama's election to the White House.

"Israelis congratulate the two great friends of Israel, John McCain for his great campaign, Barack Obama for his historic victory.

"We are certain that Israeli-American friendship faces a bright future."

Tzipi Livni, leader of the ruling Kadima party, recalled Obama's visit to Israel in July and said that "the people of Israel felt he [Obama] is a man who is deeply committed to Israel's security and peace".

"Israel hopes to pursue close strategic cooperation with the new administration and the new US president, and hopes to further tighten the unshakeable ties between our two countries," she said.

I guess they haven't heard about your psychic-abilities.

That's what they call "whistling past the grave yard" - Israel is now in great danger, and should be (and probably is) making the plans for surviving with no outside help.

....A direct-result of Lil' Dumbya (purposely) dropping-the-ball (on the whole Israeli/Palestinian-issue), 'cause engagement was The Clinton Way....and, Lil' Dumbya would have none o' THAT!!

Well....things are getting-back-to-normal, again......

"Obama has pledged to make Middle East peace a priority from Day Onehttp://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/11/05/labott.foreign.policy/index.html. Arabs are already calling for a more even-handed approach, while Israel is expecting Obama to stay true to the pro-Israel posture he showed during the campaign."

At least some people (still) appreciate/choose Optimism.
"In my opinion, the election of Barack Obama has in one stroke re-kindled faith in the American people throughout the world. It shows that what has appeared for many years as a deep-rooted fear of all things foreign or different was not a reflection of the American people's values but that of their rulers. It gives hope again that this powerful nation might lead the world towards an era of respect for other nations' values and traditions, acceptance of differences and dialogue." - Francine Holland, St Albans

"I'm glad he got in. I would like to say to those americans who are saying they dont want to be like europe & stand in line for health care or are against the 'liberal' europe stance. These statements simply show how ignorant of the rest of the world you truly are. I have never waited in line for medical care! You also need to look up liberalism because i dont think it means what you think it does. Looking after your populace is simply right. If you cant see that, well, you deserve all you get." - [quiteangryoldman], Lowestoft, United Kingdom
