McBush needs to make better-use of his time.....maybe build model-airplanes....as-long-as he allows someone else to handle them, upon completion. :rolleyes:

"McCain has constantly mocked Obama by saying Barack's attitude of negotiating with our enemies is a clear indication of his lack of experience in foreign policy matters. McCain also cites Gen. Petraeus as often as he can as he tries to use his support of "the surge" to demonstrate his judgement. Well, Gen. Petraeus just destroyed his argument with his appearance at the Heritage Foundation."

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Citing his Iraq experience, Petraeus said, “You have to talk to enemies.” He added that it was necessary to have a particular goal for discussion and to perform advance work to understand the motivations of his interlocutors.

Also known as preconditions....

<Yaaaaawwwwwnnnnn......>

"This is a major difference that I have with Senator McCain. This notion that by not talking to people we are punishing them has not worked," he explained.

"(A meeting without pre-conditions) doesn't mean you invite them over for tea one day. What it means is we don't do what we've been doing, which is to say, until you agree to do exactly what we say, we won't have direct contacts with you," said Obama.

Five former US Secretaries of State- Colin Powell, Madeleine Albright, Warren Christopher, James Baker and Henry Kissinger- have said that the next American administration should hold direct and unconditional talks with Tehran over its nuclear activities.

Obama used remarks made by Kissinger, who is now an advisor to McCain, to back up his argument. In earlier comments, Kissinger had said the United States should negotiate with Tehran 'without setting any conditions'.

"I am using the same words that your advisors use," said Obama, when McCain accused him of 'parsing words'.

Maybe McBush (simply) couldn't recall. :rolleyes:

You cite five Sec. of State saying we should talk. Interesting when the State Department in the diplomatic wing of the United States government. Shocking that they would be for diplomacy I know....

That said, what exactly does Obama think he is going to change by sitting down with them? What is his new strategy?

So far, all we have seen is the same "movie" if you will play out over and over again with Iran. The only difference is the IAEA ends it by saying they have more and more centrifuges. It went from 1000 to 2000 to 3000. What is the next ending? 4000? Then a bomb?

What is the new strategy for negotiation? Because Obama saying that he will "change the strategy" is meaningless until he says how, and then why that will work.
