For those who don't know... Pravda was the official news wing of the Communist party in Russia:

American capitalism gone with a whimper

It must be said, that like the breaking of a great dam, the American decent into Marxism is happening with breath taking speed, against the back drop of a passive, hapless sheeple, excuse me dear reader, I meant people.

...

The final collapse has come with the election of Barack Obama. His speed in the past three months has been truly impressive. His spending and money printing has been a record setting, not just in America's short history but in the world. If this keeps up for more then another year, and there is no sign that it will not, America at best will resemble the Wiemar Republic and at worst Zimbabwe.

These past two weeks have been the most breath taking of all. First came the announcement of a planned redesign of the American Byzantine tax system, by the very thieves who used it to bankroll their thefts, loses and swindles of hundreds of billions of dollars. These make our Russian oligarchs look little more then ordinary street thugs, in comparison. Yes, the Americans have beat our own thieves in the shear volumes. Should we congratulate them?

...

Prime Minister Putin, less then two months ago, warned Obama and UK's Blair, not to follow the path to Marxism, it only leads to disaster. Apparently, even though we suffered 70 years of this Western sponsored horror show, we know nothing, as foolish, drunken Russians, so let our "wise" Anglo-Saxon fools find out the folly of their own pride.

...

The proud American will go down into his slavery with out a fight, beating his chest and proclaiming to the world, how free he really is. The world will only snicker.

Marxism always leads to slavery...

Obama, Bush, the Democrats and Republicans can all rename their Marxist policies as being "Compassionate Capitalism" but as Comrade Top Gun would say, "You can put wings on a pig but that doesn't make it an eagle!"

Its truly sad that America has to be schooled on the dangers of Marxist policy, and the virtues of Capitalism, by none other than the former soviets of Russia... and all Americans have to say is, "Its not Marxism when we do it!"

Yawn... America is no place near Marxist, and crying it just makes you look like you dont have a clue.
Shaman... You forgot to use your crayons, you didn't include an irrelevant link and for some reason, you posted under pockets name and avatar.

You don't think ANYTHING is marxist or socialist... Government taking over banks? Nah.. thats totally Capitalism! Government taking over the Car industry? Nah... thats totally Capitalism! Government taking over Insurance companies? Nah.. thats totally Capitalism! Government capping salaries? Nah... That's totally Capitalism!

You are one of the people I mentioned... you've not only got the blinders on but your ear plugs firmly in place and your head buried deep in the sand just to make sure you don't see or hear what's going on...

"Its not Marxism when we do it!" - R.E. Tard

Here is the plan for America put forth by the CPUSA:

Meet the Needs of Working, Unemployed and Farm Families
- Raise the minimum wage to $12 an hour.
-Unemployment insurance for all workers.
- Moratorium on farm foreclosures
- Labor law reform to remove barriers to workers who want to join a union.
- No privatization of Social Security. Increase benefits.
- Universal prescription drug coverage administered by Medicare. Universal health care system.
- Restore social safety net. Welfare reform that includes job training, supports and living wages.
- Full funding for equal, quality, bi-lingual public education. No vouchers.
We are doing, preparing to do, or have done, every single one of those...

Make Corporate Giants Pay
- Repeal tax cuts to the rich and corporations.
- Close corporate tax loopholes.
- Restitution to workers' pensions.
- Strong regulation of financial industry.
- Regulation and public ownership of utilities
- Prosecute corporate polluters. Public works program to clean our air, water and land
- Aid to cities and states. Federally funded infrastructure repair and social service programs
With the exception of public ownership of utilities (we are greatly expanding our regulation of them but we'll get around to public ownership), we are doing, preparing to do, or have done, all of those as well.

Foreign Policy for Peace and Justice
- No to war with Iraq - End military interventions
- Repeal Fast Track and NAFTA, stop Free Trade Area of the Americas(FTAA). No secrecy.
- Save Salt II Agreements, reject Star Wars and Nuclear Posture Review
-Abolish nuclear weapons
- End military interventions.
- Cut military budget and fund human needs.
We're staying in Iraq.... Other than that... We are doing, preparing to do, or have done, all of those.

Defend Democracy and Civil Rights
- End racial profiling.
- Repeal the death penalty.
- Enforce civil rights laws and affirmative action.
- Repeal USA Patriot Act.
- Legalization and protection of immigrant>rights.
- Public financing of elections. Overall election law reform including Instant Runoff Voting.
- Youth and student bill of rights. Guarantee youth's right to earn, learn and live.
We aren't banning the death penalty on the federal level, those in power like being able to spy on you with the Patriot Act, so that stays... The rest we have done, or are working on accomplishing.

So according to the Communist Party USA plan for America, we are right on track with 24 and a half of the 28 proposals they put forth....

According to the sheeple with their heads in the sand... none of those things are socialist/Marxist/communist. According to those people, I'm totally crazy for even suggesting that with our policy positions, which coincidentally mirror those of the Communist Party USA policy positions, we are on a march to Socialism...

Yep, they are correct, you're totally crazy for suggesting such a thing.

I do like where the nation is heading, and we need a little bit more socialism very much. Maybe that could prevent some of the erosion of the middle class that has taken place in the past 30 years.

Where we're heading is bankruptcy. We're out of money... even Obama has admitted that. We're printing money to pay for the socialist programs we already have, that we can't afford, and people like you are screaming that we need to create even more of these government run entitlement programs.

The Russians went through all this before, they learned from their history and are pointing out our stupidity for sprinting down the same path that collapsed their country. Only its not socialist when we do it... when we do it its "Progressive"!

At least someones eyes are opened, too bad they had to be russians instead of Americans

Yeah, but when you think about it, this totally makes sense. The Russians lived through socialism. They understand what a disaster it is. They have lived through food rationing, and gulags, and economic poverty while living in one of the most resource rich lands in all the Earth.

Not only that, but they are moving away from socialism, and reaping the rewards of Capitalism and free-market enterprise. Not only are they seeing it, but they are watching China, one of their closest economic ideological neighbors, doing the same and reaping the massive rewards of free-market Capitalism. They are seeing it first hand, in their country, in our generation.

Meanwhile, Americans have never experienced the oppression of socialism, and have no idea what's going on. They don't see the long term cost of nationalization, only the short term "the economy is bad, and it's Bush's fault somehow".

It was just like the energy crisis under Carter, when Russian economist pointed out that gas lines and product shortages were a normal part of Russian socialist life. In America, it was billed as "evil corporations".

Seems to me you are confusing a totalitarian Communist regime with a democratic socialist one. Sweden and Denmark, France and Germany would be closer examples, I think, perhaps even Spain rather than the Soviet Union.

The soviet union wasn't a totalitarian regime any more than we are, or soon will be.... they had freedom to democratically elect any communist they wanted to office. If the Republicans "moderate" and thereby reject the principles of limited government, lower taxes and individual freedom and responsibility, we will have much the same choice when we democratically elect our representatives, we can vote for Democrat, or Democrat lite.

The soviets had a constitution, just like we do, and like we do, they ignored it. The soviets had freedom of speech... you just had to watch what you said... just like we do with your crazy hate speech laws and your DHS labeling people who speak out for limited government, personal freedom and lower taxes as Right Wing Extremists.

Prior generations of Americans surrendered so much of their freedoms that we don't miss what we never got to experience. And now this generation is surrendering even more of their freedoms, which today our president referred to as their "sacrifice" for the greater good. We can't sacrifice our way into prosperity any more than we can spend our way out of debt. The level of accepted rhetoric is incontrovertably Orwellian.

Sadly, Pravda now knows nothing of Marxism or Communism.

It is written by hacks every bit as useless and self-censoring as their lickspittle "free world" counterparts.

The entire rising generation of 80's apparatchiks bought into the capitalist dream and the result is untold rcihes for them and their cronies and short life expectancies and little or no war pensions for the war heroes that destroyed the Bush family backed Hitlerite filth.

In 1917, Russia was a basket case.

In 1941-1945, the Red Army and the Soviet industrial might ground the Nazi war machine into dust.

That is the real hsitory of Communism.

Comrade Stalin of Gori

"In bourgeois society, living labor is but a means to increase accumulated labor. In Communist society, accumulated labor is but a means to widen, to enrich, to promote the existence of the laborer.
In bourgeois society, therefore the past dominates the present; In Communist society the present dominates the past. In bourgeois society capital is independent and has individuality, while the living person is dependent and has no individuality."
--- Karl Marx from The Manifesto of the Communist Party.

In a way, the writers at Pravda may know what they are talking about because of nothing more than actual experience with the 'ideal' Marxist system; the old Soviet Union.
