The scenario you lay out is that the oldsters will disappear through natural aging and there will be no new old farts to take their place. Well, yes, there will be a whole new and fresh crew of old farts ready and willing to take the place of the old group of old farts. The process has been working that way for 200 years and will undoubtedly continue another 200 years.

Unless there is some hiccup in the process that you are seeing that no one else is seeing?
