Sanders believes he can win over Trump's supporters "explaining that Trump has been successful at channeling working class anger."

Yeah, right. Since he's a socialist who knows exactly what the "working class" wants, he can win over Trump's supporters.

The Vermont senator said he would instead work to channel that same anger into support for proposals such as raising the minimum wage — as opposed to “dividing us up and having us hate Mexicans or Muslims.”
I doubt it will work.

The fact that he's trying to win over Republicans in itself is an admission that he won't get the Dems nomination. It's a shame that Hillary will get the nomination without trying too hard.

Jim Webb might be running as an independent candidate. Don't know if his entry might make it somewhat harder for Clinton to be president since a number of her supports will vote for him.

Curiously enough, there are supporters if his looking at The Donald. They know he's toast and are obviously fed up with the status quo to have been lookin at him.

Does seem to appear that the GOP does still stand a chance if people who don't stand HRC won't vote for her. Should they [the Republicans] get the support of more Latinos then they most certainly will win the election.

There are a number of factors at play. HRCs generally unfavorables mean people have little desire to get off the couch. BO being black got a significant number if blacks off the couch and it's just not going to carry over to hrc.
Small changes in percentages make a big difference and there is reason to think Trump is mining those percentages successfully.
HRC knows she will have to buy her votes and has been fundraising accordingly. Won't know if it's enough for some time yet.
One thing for sure, everyone but Trump has been spending lavishly while he has hardly spent at all. The guy is doing it with twitter aka free. (Not really free because he pays someone to write all those things).
Gonna be interesting.

Neither Clinton nor Sanders would want to embarrass themselves getting into political, social, humanitarian and securing military protection for U.S. citizens debate with the Donald Trump.

He isn't a socialist. Conservatives love to ignore the fact that what we call liberal or socialist even in the USA is only marginally different than what we call conservative in a world view of things. If you are going to call Sanders a socialist you may as well you may as well give that label to all the democratic party and a majority of mainstream republicans as well.

He calls himself socialist.
Of course few textbook examples ever exist but still need to differentiate somehow.

He does call himself a Socialist, and a lot of his supporters that I've talked to are supporting on that very platform. As far as the rest of the Dems and mainstream Repubs are concerned, I will certainly ascribe the title of Socialist to them all.

LOL, and you think a corporatist like Trump knows? In fact, from what I have seen Sanders may be closer to understanding the people then any of the other candidates. Now if he just had some ideas on World politics.

First off, Christ said to share what God had given you with others, and He said God had given you everything you have including the talent to get such.

Then we had Jefferson who believed in taxing only the wealthy, free public education for all, and income equality.

Then there was Franklin who advocated for, and even built, free hospital care for the poor.

And the list goes on.

So, were they "socialists"?

Or was that the basis if the "American Dream"?
