School children ages 5-11 sing for "The One"

My boss defended that. Teachers unions can show support for teachers exc. I was disguested by it and I would have been equally disgusted if they did something simular for the republican or McCain.

Actually, if I'm not mistaken, since they claim tax-exempt status, shouldn't they be banned from pushing support for a specific candidate? I remember a religious group being threatened with the revoke of their tax exempt status because they handed out voter guides, which turned out to be non-partisan since some democrats on the guide ranked higher than republicans. Yet I don't hear that the IRS is threatening the NEA, which is clearly advocating one specific person.

Why the double standard?

By the way... did you realize that the NEA rakes in $350 million a year or more? Yet teachers complain they are not paid enough... well.... um... stop paying membership dues maybe? What do you think NEA presidents do with that cash? Send out little notes to support Obama? That's what they do with $350 million? You think maybe the teachers could benefit more from that cash?

Oh, it gets better.

Michelle's Boot Camps For Radicals

Barack Obama was a founding member of the board of Public Allies in 1992, resigning before his wife became executive director of the Chicago chapter of Public Allies in 1993. Obama plans to use the nonprofit group, which he features on his campaign Web site, as the model for a national service corps. He calls his Orwellian program, "Universal Voluntary Public Service."

The Obamas discourage work in the private sector. "Don't go into corporate America," Michelle has exhorted youth. "Work for the community. Be social workers." Shun the "money culture," Barack added. "Individual salvation depends on collective salvation."
"If you commit to serving your community," he pledged in his Denver acceptance speech, "we will make sure you can afford a college education."

Not all the recruits appreciate the PC indoctrination. "It was too touchy-feely," said Nelly Nieblas, 29, of the 2005 Los Angeles class. "It's a lot of talk about race, a lot of talk about sexism, a lot of talk about homophobia, talk about -isms and phobias."
One of those -isms is "heterosexism," which a Public Allies training seminar in Chicago describes as a negative byproduct of "capitalism, white supremacy, patriarchy and male-dominated privilege."
Public Allies promotes "diversity and inclusion," a program paper says.

More than 70% of its recruits are "people of color." "Our alumni are more than twice as likely as 18-34 year olds to . . . engage in protest activities," Public Allies boasts in a document found with its tax filings. It has already deployed an army of 2,200 community organizers like Obama to agitate for "justice" and "equality" in his hometown of Chicago and other U.S. cities, including Cincinnati, Los Angeles, Milwaukee, New York, Phoenix, Pittsburgh and Washington. "I get to practice being an activist," and get paid for it, gushed Cincinnati recruit Amy Vincent.

The government now funds about half of Public Allies' expenses through Clinton's AmeriCorps. Obama wants to fully fund it and expand it into a national program that some see costing $500 billion. "We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded" as the military, he said.

Schools are far more tolerent to political talking than they are religous.

Generally the people are pretty brainwashed and say what they want and its a non issue. Once in a while someone stands up to it, wears a shirt saying something non liberal. They are asked to take it off or turn it inside out, when they refuse they are usually suspended.

Teachers wear buttons with their candidate. last election at this time there were tons of cases so far I know of two One boy and a t-shirt and now this school chant to the messiah

McCain=Bush :rolleyes:

No matter who wins, expect more of the "New Patriotism" to fill the boards.

There's nothing new about it GenSeneca, it's just that it's been so long since the concept of the Hitler Youth was viable that it's been forgotten. Get ready to hear from schools when your kids let it slip that you're conservative, you might even get a visit from Social Services concerned about how you might be "abusing" your children just for opposing Obama.

For the last 8 years the left has told us that attacking our president, our country and our troops was dissent and the most patriotic thing you could do. They did not feel that way about the president while Clinton was president or Jimmy (moron) Carter but they sure did while Reagan was and the last 8 years most especially.

It was and is considered patriotic to say our president is like Hitler, our troops like terrorists. These same people would like us to stop that sort of patriotism where it is directed at their lord obama, but it won’t be. They will get back every single sick disgusting gross thing they dished out right back at them, and this time it will actually be true ;)

I do not think any conservative will lower themselves to say our troops are like terrorists or our country is an evil place, but I bet we can muster the same Obama = Hitler stuff just like the left did.
