Scuttling the Ship to Victory

October 20, 2008: I’ve had an odd feeling about the 2008 Presidential Campaign from very early on. Too many things about John McCain just quit adding up. I had always admired McCain precisely for the reasons the Republican Party seemed to want to lock him out. The power center of the Republican Party rejected McCain from Day 1, couple this by his seeming reversal on his long-held positions since 2000, his patience and demeanor of late, as though he was a changed man. Even his pick of Sarah Palin for VP seemed odd, none of these things seemed to add up. Then it hit me.

Rewind back to Summer 1999 and the 2000 Presidential Race. McCain was running against Bush and his cronies and he DESPISED them. They embodied everything he railed against at that time, corrupt special interests, campaign finance abuse and the Washington good old boy networks. McCain was an outsider and probably the closest thing to an honorable man in Washington, a town not known for honorable men. Alas, he lost the nomination and was forced to watch as the worst possible choice for President took power and proceeded to do just as he feared. He was even forced to endorse Bush for President. Can anyone who watches the film clip of this endorsement NOT see the bitterness McCain is clearly feeling? It is pretty obvious he is doing something repugnant to him that he feels he needs to do, like he is serving a higher goal.

Bush as predicted, went on to serve his special interest cronies trillions of dollars on a silver platter. There is absolutely no way the McCain was comfortable with any of this. No man of honor could possibly just sit and watch this happen, let alone participate without raising bloody hell about how wrong it was and continues to be. No man of honor would simply want to become the very thing he has fought against his entire career unless it was part of a higher ideal.

Some say he simply sold out. Again, this is not the path of a man of honor, a man of conviction, a military strategist who understands how to withstand years of torture in order to accomplish a higher goal. To reverse a 25 year history, at the end of his career just to become a lock-step member of the group he had openly despised for decades makes no sense. It seems so far beneath him and simply did not add up. An honorable man would aspire to do better, a veteran tactician would make a better plan, a man like John McCain would be willing to sacrifice himself before he would ever chose to sacrifice his ideals, his ideals saved his life in Hanoi when ideals meant more than life itself, let alone one man’s selfish desire for the Presidency.

We are witness to John McCain giving his life to defeat his enemy and the enemy of the people of the United States, namely the Oil Companies, the special interest lobbyists and the Carlisle Group. John McCain sacrificed his career voting history to align his voting record with the present administration in order to become the 2008 Republican candidate. He played the game, he walked the walk. He has demonstrated incredible self-control, not a trait he is known for, by parroting the lines and positions of these special-interest Republican Party handlers in order to become their candidate. He knew he could only defeat an enemy like his from within and that it would take a patient, intelligent plan. His plan is not to defeat the Republican Party but, to defeat the criminally-greedy corporations who have seized control of the Republican Party. The party itself is a victim as much as the American People have been and continue to be. John McCain will defeat his life-long special interest enemies in Washington and the first step is to hand the Presidency to Obama.

No one could better understand that the path to victory may lie in the act of scuttling one’s own ship in the harbor to defeat the enemy than a career Naval Officer. No honorable officer would ever sacrifice himself unless there was a far greater goal to be achieved. No soldier would use his last shot unless he could use it to defeat the true enemy.

John McCain is a patriot of the highest magnitude. He has known for many years that an evil group of corporations owned by greedy men have risen unchecked, to power in Washington and seized control of the Republican Party. He has carried out a brilliant plan to defeat his enemy and set in motion an opportunity for the American People to reject the corrupt special interests and retake Washington. He has done so by taking control of the Republican Warship and sinking it in the harbor.

I will honor this brilliant act of patriotism and cast a rare (for me) Democratic Party vote for Barak Obama for President of the United States. I will also support the work of cleaning the special interests out of Washington with each and every vote I cast in the days ahead. To clean up Washington, President Obama can count on my support and the support of his staunchest ally across the aisle in Washington D.C., Senator John McCain.

lol,lol- You jest of course, I seriously doubt you ever considered voting for McCaiin. No , you are a Socialist , from the democrat party. You are one who promotes Class Warfare and wants WELFARE. No doubt you lack the ability to reach excellence by yourself so you want to take from others that have . Actually to be clearer about what you are ,Your a SOCIALIST MARXIST. You do not care that Obama will take this nation into a domestic situation that will destroy everything our forefathers have fought against since the begining of our nation . Barack Hussein Obama is not interested in America. If , Barack has his way and fools like you put him in our White House the end of America will be close at hand. Look around at those who support Obama, you will see a domestic terrorist, Bill Ayers, George Soros a HATE AMERICA from the word go , Radical raciist like Rev. Wright, Algore, a mindless fanatic that just hates all but the most radical, the list goes on and on . If the issue is anti- American, against law and order , against GOD , against Capitalism , against independent thought , against personal responsibility, against one man -one vote rule , there you will find Barack Hussein Obama . If this is the AMERICA YOU desire then vote for Obama. As America self destructs please do not ask why? It is because of mindless robots like you that this unfit citizen was given the power that destroyed a once great Nation.

I find it extremely hard to believe that McCain has the intelligence and the finesse' to pull off a double-blind like that.

Unless he's so good at playing the irascibile senile buffoon that makes critical errors at the wrong times that he has all of us fooled.

I like Occam's razor on this one. It shaves McCain down to what he really is: incompetant for the job of President.

I'm not a John McCain fan ,I value my Conservative views to suggest McCain is the best choice for America. Having said that , Barack Hussein Obama is clearly the WRONG choice for America so I will vote for McCain and Palin(Palin is the best part of the ticket}. This election will be decided not by the radical liberals like yourself nor the loyal supporters of the G.O.P. This election is in the hands of the TRUE INDEPENDENTS.Hopefully they will use their brains and reject a Socialist / Marxist like Obama . Obama will go after and destroy through taxation policies ( as he said he would to Joe the Plumber). Obama will take away monies from those he dislikes using Class Warfare tax policies to make you tow his line. Free interprise in America will be destroyed by Socialist / Marxist programs that Obama loves. Just look around the World . What other nation has the Freedoms , the opportunities ,the ideas that America has. Do you see People trying to get into anyother Nation? During this entire election period Obama has NOT OUTLINED in specific detail as to what his plans are. Why? , because if YOU knew he would LOSE! THINK!

People with intellectual curiousity and a meaningful level of intellengence search for answers and seek truth. They have their own questions. The mindless buffoons who simply parrot the ideas and regurgitate the same well-rehearsed lines they save from the mouths of their role models are just there to be stood upon. They are the roughage that merely adds bulk to the remainder of the excreted message of a very few who have an agenda they prefer to NOT talk about.

The stereotyped platforms of neither political party exist. They are fabrications designed to appeal to the uninquisitive, weak-minded sheep who continually line up to seeking both the questions AND answers to their troubles.

Some think they are fighting for their freedoms and they've already given them all away and are too numb from trying to memorize Rusm Limbaugh quotes to know they've been living in a quazi-socialist state for most of their mis-informed lives.

Ideologies and dogma don't kill people, people kill people.

Try an original thought sometime.

I think this is debatable. While the party will not always follow the platform to a tee, they will follow the general set of guiding principles. Obviously sometimes certain groups of the party do not, but I am not sure that means the original ideals of the party are dead.

Certainly a strong opinion, however you almost seem to be advocating that people simply give up instead of continuing to fight for what they believe in. I am sure there were many people living in the USSR who were upset about living under communism, but they did not just say "oh well" nothing we can do.

Ideologies and dogma don't kill people, people kill people.

People are often driven to action by ideologies and dogma. While certainly a person must be the one to pull the trigger, often they are driven by their ideologies. I don't think the two are totally separable.

I don't remotely advocate giving up. We just need to understand who to fight. The vapid, endless huffing and puffing bickering over irrelevant, platform ideaologies are a pointless distraction that allow the real crooks to sneak off with the silverware.

I believe both parties are guilty of stoking fires for the smoke when we should be building a hot fire and putting some corporate feet to it. Nobody really cares where you draw the line in the sand if your picnic basket is empty.

The Republican Party has been stolen by the Carlisle group and the poor Democrats are busy painting their ship while it is sinking.

Meanwhile, the theif slips away in broad daylight.
