Tea Party in DC 9/12

I couldn't go either. I didn't even know it was going to happen.

But I did sign the 1.3 million person petition - the largest petition ever delivered to congress! Maybe it is time to stop calling these people teabaggers with derision and just call them people.

I have known about it for weeks but I am in Oregon and it would cost me too much to go, But I would have loved to be part of something like this.

Oh teabaggers get those things out of your face so you can see doing nothing and just letting things get even worse is not a plan!:D

The President of the United States of America rocks the jam packed & overflowing Target Center with jubilant Health Insurance Reform supporters in Minnesota speaking for actually doing something!

Top Gun,

Why are you so upset about people who are protesting, even msnbc and cnn reported accuratly this time

its about both party's spending too much money and not listening to the people.

When you guys had your anti war protests, those who felt the war was the right thing to do let you have your protests even though they were really ugly at times and very violent no one bashed you guys for protesting.

but its strange, all the really left leaning poeple here seem actually angry, upset, mad that others dared to have a voice, dared to stand up for something they believed in (when it didnt lock step with what dems want)

why? I really would like to understand why it makes you guys so angry

I know in my case, I could care less that you guys protest...it's your right. I find it humorous and it breaks the monotony. Just don't try to sell it to the rest of us as some sort of grass roots movement, when it was organized by FreedomWorks and other GOP front groups...because we're not buying it.

You've got 60-70,000, according to Park Service estimates, showing up..99.9% of them didn't vote for Obama to begin with. Rather than a protest it seems more like a mass tantrum from those that 10 months down the line, can't get over the fact that a black man is president.

I can not accept that its about a black man being president. Many who did not vote for obama would have voted for Colin Powell and I know myself I would do anything to see Harold Ford Jr. become president, I just love that guy. I wish Condie Rice would stay in politics. I like the SCJ Thomas. Why is it so hard for you to understand that it is not about his race or half of his race, it is about his and the congress ideas and spending, and it was about President Bush's spending too. He was making us very angry towards the end with his massive spending.

I was never angry when the left did protests, I never thought it was funny or stupid, I never thought it was grass roots either but something in side of me felt proud of my country when "most" of them did the protests.

I wish when it came to protesting the left would say, ok well these Americans have different ideas of what makes our country great than I have, to each thier own. And I wish the right would do the same.

Who's angry... I'm simply making fun of them.:D

This thread was started as some attempt to point out that the Right doesn't want any healthcare reform... but we already knew that. Hell you've got way more than this that don't want any healthcare reform, about 3/4 of the Republican Party I'd assume... but we already knew that too.

My point is those guys lost... and lost pretty big. And it's not like a war where people are being killed... it's providing affordable healthcare to all Americans.

I think it's just a lot of bash our President grandstanding and I was simply pointing out the enormous, jam packed, overflowing turnout supporting our President in favor of Health Insurance Reform @ the Target Center at the very same time in Minneapolis. And our President could go around the country and get crowds like that everyday anywhere he wanted.

So if I came off like it's wrong to protest that was not my intent. Peacefully protest all ya want.

But as a friend I still gotta tell ya protest or not... Health Insurance Reform will happen and for good reason.

We can work it out...;)

Yes, there is a grass root conservative movement underway that is purposely being ignored. Bigger than any in history!

This is a beautiful sight!

MSNBC, CNN, and ABC networks apparently ran several stories about Obama
instead. They are so out of touch and in the Obama camp it ain't funny!

They didn't let the average joe know the good news!

That's silly. All the stations carried it... I watched some of it.

Along with the massive turnout for our President overflowing the Target center in Minneapolis that he could easily repeat a hundred times anywhere in the country.

Now of course if I were to use Rightie logic & intellect looking at your picture I'd of course pull your standard fearmonger line out and say... Duh, a lot of people turned out for Hitler & Stalin too.:D

But we haven't got time nor the desire to do that. We're busy actually moving the process forward with Health Insurance Reform so that every American employed or having lost their job can obtain good affordable healthcare.

And that's pretty darn important because a report just came out that showed 50% of those with employer offered healthcare would lose it sometime in the next ten years if we just pulled a Republicant. (meaning: just did nothing)

Oh yeah., like we all needed to see the "campaigner in chief" on the campaign trail again.

some of us get sick of seeing his ugly mug on t.v. Doesn't he have some country to run. ... I did not say run in the ground, mind you.

I don't think I can remember someone so worried and insecure as this president. He's gotta be on T.V. pumping himself up, getting the crowd to chant his name.

He needs to give the campaigning a rest and lead. If he were leading on the Healthcare Reform, or Insurance Reform, or whatever he calls it today... I think the discussions would be further along.

Yes, Obama is in constant campaign mode, even though he won the last election.

But those crowds are simply his supporters.

Now only a a minority of people in the US care for his plans.

The independent thinkers are starting to see through his lies.

After Thousands or maybe Millions marched on Washington in direct protest to him and his policies,
I suspect he felt a shiver of mortality run up his spine and he needed some self confirmation from his
socialist bees!

So, when Obama gave his healthcare speech last week, and he cried "foul" on all the fear-mongering, now you are supporting it because Obama is the one doing it.

Isn't that convenient.

I would be interested in seeing the links supporting the idea that the movement was organized by those groups. Not that it would diminish the actual thoughts and feelings of the people who were there.

Who's angry... I'm simply making fun of them.:D

Always a good way to advance your points. (sarcasm)

I just reviewed the Op and there was zero in there about not wanting any reform. STRAWMAN. Again and again and again.

Plenty of republicans have presented ideas about reform - they even waved it during the last Presidential address. And there have been plenty of other proposals.

If you keep ignoring the obvious facts people will stop paying any attention to you.
My point is those guys lost... and lost pretty big. And it's not like a war where people are being killed... it's providing affordable healthcare to all Americans.

Yes the pubs lost. Mainly cause f. P. Bush was seen as a buffoon. Since he was not even running that tells you something about the voters in this country.

All Americans already have health care and it is not the feds job to give it to people at a lower cost ( which will end up being more).
I think it's just a lot of bash our President grandstanding and I was simply pointing out the enormous, jam packed, overflowing turnout supporting our President in favor of Health Insurance Reform @ the Target Center at the very same time in Minneapolis. Yes, because unlike the tea partiers he actually is organized. And he gets to use tax dollars to do it.

But as a friend I still gotta tell ya protest or not... Health Insurance Reform will happen and for good reason.

Something will happen. For all of us let us hope that it is not the socialists plan.

Yeah, let's see.... "... He PREYED on our FEARS!" - Al Gore....

Hmmm... legitimate security and national threats vs. Dr. Strangelove hyperbole - who's the vulture here?
