McCain didnt agree with her poltics, he just knew conservatives could not stand him and he needed someone conservatives would like so he picked her.

It is a stretch to consider Palin a conservative at this point considering her past history. A neo-con for sure. With the price of oil down sharply and state revenues following suit, we will see just how conservative she is.

Right now she is wanting to increase the operating budget and cutting the capital budget nearly in half. This is hardly a conservative move. Increasing the size of government, while killing half the construction projects.
She is further threatening the viability of small communities by cutting that aspect of spending.

A few things though, kinda like how Obama was claimed to be a socialist, Todd being claimed to be a secessionist is not accurate.

He was a member of the Alaska Independance Party, whilst the AIP did have some members who want(ed) Alaska to be its own nation, the big push was for an actual vote on becoming a state, which never happened back in 1958 it rose to prominance back in the 70s when there was a huge influx of people and money due to the pipeline boom. This largely surrounds just a handful of outspoken people on the issue.

There was a time in the late 80s early 90s when it was somewhat hip to be a AIP member, when it became viable as a third party but most of them where Republicans that decided to leave the party when it was hurting back in those days.

I wouldnt call Todd Palin a secessionist.

Exactly why we shouldnt have the presidential election based on poppular vote. Just a handful of the most poppulated states can rule the others. It is UnAmerican to have 9 states elect a President for the other 41. There is a damn good reason it is not based on the poppular vote, and the lynch mob mentality you describe is a perfect example.

I think you and I both know that I am no fan of the Palin national policies, but the link you provided is a joke. I personally know several people who have been long term class mates with Track, and the allegations go a bit to far from what I understand.
