The German Movie "The Boat"

Well, for one thing, the war between reds and whites in Russia and aided by western powers, was a paranoid reaction to the Soviet Union which demanded worldwide revolution. Also, we can see that throughout the Cold War the Communist threat was a big deal, so wouldn't it have been one before World War II? Well, for one thing, remember the Red Scare in the USA.

The latest commentary on European Communism is that Germany caused it by transporting Lenin to Russia during WW1.

The latest commentary on German Nazism is that the USA caused it by entering WW1.

Most historians agree that England and the USA should have stayed neutral during WW1. Then there would have been no WW2 and also no USSR nor any Cold War.

If you read "To End All Wars" that is the gist of Hochschild the author.

It was competition between Germany and the UK which sparked a lot of it to begin with. Also, if Germany funded Communism, then wouldn't it make sense that America's entry into World War I helped the Communists? It should be noted that Russia had practically surrendered before the US entered the war. The US entry into the war turned the tide, but not enough to bring the Romanovs back into power.

You are correct that the US entry into WW1 turned the tide. This was at a time when all 3 other nations on the western front were exhausted from war -- UK, France, and Germany. However Germany was exhausted the most and people there were actually starving in Germany.

After Germany sent Lenin to Russia in a secret railroad train, the die was already cast for Europe regarding Communism. The USA staying out or not could not have changed that. The Romanov's were not coming back into power. The Bolsheviks would see to that, as we know.

I would not say that the USA had anything to do with promoting communism ever anywhere. Germany however did spawn it in Russia. The disease then spread all over eastern Europe and Asia. What the German Kaiser did was pure foolishness. The Kaiser is second only to Adolf in his international foolishness.

It would have been better had the Kaiser never been born. Scores of millions of peoples would have lived long normal lives had he not been.

The Kaiser was just playing politics. Didn't the US do the same by encouraging Islamic fundementalism, a thing which later turned on the US? Perhaps, as with the US, the Kaiser didn't think the thing he was funding would turn into a dragon.

Of course, Hitler was adamant in his beliefs the Jews were responsible for Gemany's World War I defeat and the rise of communism in Russia. Did he perhaps think they encouraged the Kaiser to make deals with revolutionaries?
