The Official Presidential Debate Thread Vol.1

Obama quotes from the debate with my questions:

Seneca: Sen. Obama, what is your number one national priority?

"All of us are going to contribute, all of us are going to sacrifice."-- Obama

Seneca: For who or what will we be sacrificing?

"China... we're going to have to give them the energy they need."-- Obama

Seneca: Americans have to sacrifice for China's energy... why?

"It's true, there's some things I don't understand."-- Obama

Seneca: Like what, what don't you understand?

"They are plotting to kill Americans right now."-- Obama

Seneca: Who? The Chinese? And you want Americans to give them the energy they need?

"That has to be our number one national security priority."-- Obama

Seneca: Why would we do this?

"This is the kind of policy that will undermine our war on terror."-- Obama

Seneca: Why would you want to do that?

"The resurgence of Russia... We've got to do more than support them morally...We've also got to provide them with economic assistance." -- Obama

Seneca: Ok, China gets our energy, Russia gets our moral support and money... what will that leave America with?

"That will make us more safe."-- Obama

Seneca: So you want to outsource the defense of America to China and Russia?

"They're not the old Soviet Union."-- Obama

Seneca: No kidding... But they don't have the best interests of America at heart.

"If you don't Change™ your behavior, there will be dire consequences."-- Obama

Seneca: Yeah, I've heard about your Chicago style of politics and the list of radical leftist people and groups supporting your campaign.

"My wife Michelle... she can give you a much longer list."-- Obama

Seneca: I bet she can...

"We need fundamental Change™ in America."-- Obama

Seneca: With you as president, we're gonna be:
Fundamentally
Under the
Control of
Totalitarians

you mean fox is gloomy? what you mean they are Bias? nooooo never, they are fair and balanced...lol

brit humes? spelling he seemed glum to me, I am assuming its because of the debate but I can not say for sure.

I think fox is more fair then the other networks. I think they for sure have a bias to the republicans but they are willing to talk about the bad stuff on both sides. You never get that from the other net works unless they are forced into it.

the cnn people who usually are not all happy and cheery are tonight happy and cheery, same for the pms channel

That was great gen, and I think that last part will make a great bumper sticker!

CBS snap poll of uncommitted voters

Who won?

McCain (R) 27
Obama (D) 39
Draw 35

Will Obama will make the right decisions on the economy?

Before debate: 54
After debate: 68

fox has mccain winning by over 80 percent but i still say they both stunk

neither did anything worth while, I could have been blogging or something instead. it was a huge waste of everyones time

This is a boring debate :(

This has got to be the most boring debate that I've ever seen...

This is what happens when Tom Brokaw got his hands into it. The moment the event got started and Tom said that he had cherry picked the questions in the debate from the audience and from the internet, I knew that McCain was screwed then.....

This is bull ****!!!!

McCain is trailing in the polls, he did nothing tonight to alter that situation. On the other hand, Obama showed the confidence of a man who can see the finish line. Again, I thought he acted extremely presidential.

This "presidential" crapola is for the birds. Who is right on the issues? Obama has no substance. Just like McCain said, trying to nail down Obama policy wise, with his endless slippery used car saleman spiel is like chasing jello around a plate with a fork. Obama has used this slick sales approach to make every dupe in the country think he agrees with him. Boy, will people be surprised at what they get if he gets elected - leftwing extremism like never seen before in this country.

It seemed like the same old questions

did the mod expect different answers

the house reply by mccain was the only new thing of the night
everything else was just the same crap they always say

Everyone expected questions about Obama's radical friends, but I guess those were left out...
