tsman. One of the advantage Britain has over Australia is that you have historic churches which tourist visit. Here few people see the inside of a church. Although 25% go to Church run schools only 15% go to church. It is difficult go to a shopping centre with staff wearing rabbit ears but no mention of the religious significance of Easter. Yet seafood and hot cross buns sales are up. The significance of Christianity is that it influence so many laws and customs here. But most people do not know this

... it must seem odd as its supposed to be a spring festival but you guys are the other way round. But I take your point most of the religious festivals like easter and christmas have lost their significance. Sign of the times really, consumerism versus culture... if that's the right word?
