Remember, how "conservatives" continually insist people "...need to accept responsibility for their own actions!"??

It's THAT TIME, for the Bush Cabal!!!

"At the end of the second world war, US officials prosecuted Nazi lawyers and civilians who tortured no one themselves but came up with legal flimflam to turn war crimes into legal policy. Why not apply the same logic to Bush’s legal architects – the men who declared the president was bound by no law and no treaty in subjecting prisoners to torture up to the very edge of death?"

what exactly are you calling torture? do you mean the naked men who were getting their picture taken? I am not sure what you define as torture?

some people call yelling at someone torture, some say keeping them sleep deprived some say not giving the food a person wants.

what is it to you and are you sure our men and woman have done it?

Do you consider sleep deprivation "torture." It makes no sense if your interrogation method is to bring someone on the verge of death, because if they die you lose the potential information... you are attempting to make it sound like the United States does a lot more than it actually does.

I notice you never rail against any other country about their practices. Do you honestly think that the man captured in India is not getting tortured in India right now?

Ah, yes....The Great BUSHCO-Excuse; no one defined exactly what constituted torture. They only knew they wouldn't submit to it.

....Information that's worth ZIP, anyhow.

.....And, you (personally) saw what, at Gitmo??

I guess we're gonna find-out!

I am not making excuses, I just really dont know what you are talking about

When I think of torture I think of like getting your hand cut off, or having your arms and legs broken or being burnt with a hot rod or cut or having a knife held to your face so close your eye can see the point.

but Its not my job to define torture, so can you tell me what you mean, some examples of how our troops tortured anyone and I will tell you if I think it deserves punishment

Sounds like this just means you want the world to buy into your definition of what torture is.

This thread reminds me of the Supreme Court Justice who said he couldn't define pornography, but knew it when he saw it.

what do you call torture?

some people say if you want to stop muslim terrorst then when you do catch them dead or alive bury them wrapped in a pig skin or in pigs blood.

that doesnt sound horrible to me but I am not afraid to get near a pig either, another person would call that extreme and uncalled for. but it apparently stops them from doing terrorist acts

so what is torture to you?

If your looking for a list, there's not that many gigabytes on the web. What the mind of man can come up with doesn't have any defined limits.

If your looking for a nice, neat definition that can be applied to all circumstances, all the time; sorry, I can't supply it

I just meant for you, what do you think is torture

Since we have to personally see everything now, I guess every point you have ever made is mostly irrelevant.
Sure....why not?

That's the difference, between you ("conservatives") & us (Realists); our lives aren't guided by suppositions.

Then how do you know anyone is dying in Iraq? You ever been there? How do you know that an aborted baby could not make it on its own? You ever been there to try it?

Your whole premise is lame. Everyone makes assumptions based on what they perceive, it is not some difference between "liberal" and "conservative."

But since we are going on your logic, I have indeed been waterboarded, and it is not torture. Guess that means you are unable to respond by your own admission since you have never been subjected to the technique. Guess that means all your rants about the US supporting dictators are irrelevant now, did you go down and deliver arms, or are you simply relying on suppositions? For that matter, how do you know GITMO even exists? You been there or are you relying on suppositions? I thought "realists" did not do that.
