Why are Republicans so silent about Gas Prices?

What come on, just a month or 2 ago it was all Obamas Fault...

so now that is low, any credit for him? what? none??

Its almost like Hypocrisy!

Let me give you clue...my dear deluded liberal buddy, the reason gas prices are down is because the nations economy continues to flounder under the horrific socialist leadership of your Dear Leader. But don't let facts prevent you from spouting BS.

Even the Communist News Network knows the truth. How could you have missed it?

There are many reasons why gasoline prices go up and down. I didn't blame Obama for gas prices when they were higher...... I blamed him for not allowing the exploration and exploitation of more and more oil and natural gas. Now that gasoline prices are lower, I STILL blame Obama for obstructing development of our nations energy resources! If the US was developing every ounce of natural energy in our nation, gas prices would still go up and down depending on other variables. However, the "highs" wouldn't be as high as they'd otherwise be, and the "lows" would be lower than they'd have been with the status quo. At the same time, we'd have to power of knowing that no other country could threaten us with higher energy prices! Common sense doesn't come naturally to those on the left!

No one seems to remember the oil embargo. With the crazies in Iran and Venezuela, you would think we would be concerned about our ability to produce more energy.

OK, credit to BO for strangling our economy which damaged us as a market for the rest of the world, for leaving Bernake unable to do more currency manipulation to weaken the dollar faster than the euro etal to narrow the gap to our levels of weakness and with al this downturn oil drops on lower demand.

Careful what you ask for Pockts

so as suspected if gas goes down you bitch, if it goes up you bitch...and its all his fault...And you question why people say the republicans are crack pop hyper partisans.

US producing more fuel then at any time. suck it up.

Goodness, I didn't realize you were so sensitive. I hope that I don't hurt your feelings again with this reply. Please consider this a "learning experience', not a personal attack on you.

You're oversimplifying a complex issue again. It's easy to say that we're producing more fuel than at any time, though my gut tells me you're wrong about that claim. Simply making that comment, however, doesn't address the core of my remarks. It doesn't help in solving our energy problems either!

Please try to follow this logic: Democrats could easily claim that the US is producing more college graduates now than at anytime in our history. I suspect that claim would be true. What Democrats won't tell us is that the average level of competence in math, science, and history among those graduates is at an all-time LOW. How much good does it do our nation to produce more of anything if what we're producing is far LESS than it needs to be??? For years now, Democrats have fought against oil, natural gas, and coal exploration and exploitation within the US and offshore. They've fought "tooth and nail" against construction of additional refining plants! Throughout the 1970's and into the present day, the Democrats have argued that it would take 10-30 years to implement a comprehensive energy-exploration and exploitation plan. "We wouldn't see the benefits for years and years", the Democrats argued. Duh..... it's been years and years. Had we started such a program 30 years ago, how much energy would we be producing now, and how dependent would we be on nations that take advantage of such Democrat stupidty??? Underachievment should NEVER be a US goal! By obstructing the maximum development of our energy resources, Democrats are settling for LESS than our nation deserves. Unlike liberal Democrats, we Conservatives demand American EXCELLENCE......, not American mediocrity!

if you prefer to look at symptoms thats OK, I'm a root cause guy myself.

BO could have easily impacted oil prices directly by NOT blocking domestic production.

You see, the partisan view is that the president controls gas prices. If they go down, then the Republicans say it's because the economy is in the toilet because of the Democrats. The Democrats say it's down because the Democrats are doing a good job. If they go up, then the Republicans blame that on the Democrats, too, but the Democrats will say that the president has no control over the price of gas.

So, pick your team, get your pom poms ready, and cheer for your side. Meanwhile the president does not control the cost of gas regardless of whether he has a D or an R after his name, doesn't deserve any credit or any blame for fluctuating prices.

Hint: the price of gas depends on the cost of oil, which is set by the world market and depends on everything from unrest in the Middle East to decisions made by the Saudis.

GAS IS GOING BACK UP! Republicans wont stay silent for long.

Iran is stirrin' the puddin again. we'll see which factors win the day. Greece is set to tell us its even worse than they thought and will abandon their "deal" and France already announced they're in deep doo-doo. it never rains but it pours....

I prefer to just look at which factors are occurring the its easy enough to see how they're driven. if its via action/inaction then it is what it is. others prefer to blame Bush... : )
