A law passed in the 80s which states that businesses trafficking in controlled substances are prohibited by Federal law from utilizing tax deductions available to other businesses will see legal [marijuana] dealers pay a tax rate of up to 70%.
This law will make it almost impossible for said dealers to make decent profits they'll have to raise prices and this would drive marijuana users onto the street where they can buy cheaper marijuana - not much revenue would be collected from marijuana sales.
