the reason Phil Jones and his cabalnever explained their "science" to the people is because they knew it was easier to just sucker the BBC into silencing sceptics.

so much cheaper 15k pounds) and easier (throw a few seminars).

and more tidbits about their selective science. snip here, WAY more at the link.

Britain’s leading green activist research centre spent £15,000 on seminars for top BBC executives in an apparent bid to block climate change sceptics from the airwaves, a vast new cache of leaked ‘Climategate’ emails has revealed.

The emails – part of a trove of more than 5,200 messages that appear to have been stolen from computers at the University of East Anglia – shed light for the first time on an incestuous web of interlocking relationships between BBC journalists and the university’s scientists, which goes back more than a decade.

They show that University staff vetted BBC scripts, used their contacts at the Corporation to stop sceptics being interviewed and were consulted about how the broadcaster should alter its programme output.

BBC insiders say the close links between the Corporation and the UEA’s two climate science departments, the Climatic Research Unit (CRU) and the Tyndall Centre for Climate Research, have had a significant impact on its coverage.

‘Following their lead has meant the whole thrust and tone of BBC reporting has been that the science is settled, and that there is no need for debate,’ one journalist said. ‘If you disagree, you’re branded a loony.’

In 2007, the BBC issued a formal editorial policy document, stating that ‘the weight of evidence no longer justifies equal space being given to the opponents of the consensus’ – the view that the world faces catastrophe because of man-made carbon dioxide emissions.

my favorite

The ‘Climategate 2’ emails disclose that in private some of those same scientists have had doubts about aspects of the global warming case.

For example, Professor Phil Jones, the head of the CRU, admitted there was no evidence that the snows of Kilimanjaro were melting because of climate change, and he and his colleagues agreed there were serious problems with the famous ‘hockey stick’ graph – the depiction of global temperatures that suggests they were broadly level for 1,000 years until they started to rise with industrialisation.

Notice how this story disappeared in the national media? It is yet FURTHER proof of the lies promoted by the global warming scientific community. And the complicity of the left media.

But, nothing will sway the Warmers. They have become a religious FAITH. They believe no matter what the facts are.

its amazing really. the worst part to me is that we keep wasting money on tech that has born no fruit after decades instead of opening up to other areas.

Every scientific organization on Earth is saying the same thing: The average temperature of the planet is increasing, and human activities are accelerating the change.

Every one, no exceptions.

Even the ones that are sponsored by the oil industry.

and yet, the "conservatives" have to insist that global warming is a hoax. No wonder they keep coming up with nonsense to try to support their position.

If only Al Gore hadn't made an issue our of climate change. If only Gore had been a Republican. Maybe then the "conservatives" would be able to admit what has been demonstrated true over and over again.

Algoraphobia, that's all it is.

hoax ? even Phil Jones knows we stopped warming 15 years ago. despite increasing CO2 which, according to the theroy cannot be.

At a minimum, we have a very incomplete understanding of why the earth warms and cools.

We have a pretty good understanding of what is accelerating the warming this time around though. What we don't understand very well is just what changes are in store for a given location.

That's where we need to focus: research. Politicizing the issue and talking about our "carbon footprints" isn't going to get us anywhere. We can't reverse the process anyway.

no, we can't and we can't make a dent in it given the eastern countries.

research ? sure, but lets try it without per-conceived demons this time. and lets listen to everyone and let their research stand or fall on its own.

This is not true. Not EVERYONE believes AGW is real. To say such a thing only proves once again how out of touch you are. Do you really believe what you stated?

Most Greenie causes are at best distractions from real environmental concerns (such as land degradation) and are more motivated by a hatred of people than by any care for the environment

Global warming has taken the place of Communism as an absurdity that "liberals" will defend to the death regardless of the evidence showing its folly. Evidence never has mattered to real Leftists

‘Global warming’ has become the grand political narrative of the age, replacing Marxism as a dominant force for controlling liberty and human choices.

Recent NASA figures tell us that there was NO warming trend in the USA during the 20th century. If global warming is occurring, how come it forgot the USA?

Many Americans still believe the lies presented by leftist newspapers like the NY Slimes. Here is evidence the reporter for the Slimes has a leftist agenda...but some warmers will no doubt keep the faith... choosing to ignore the truth.

Nothing proves the old Nazi adage....

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.”

...than those who believe in AGW. How can they be so easily fooled by such a transparent lie?

Leaked Emails Raise Questions About NYT’s ClimateGate Coverage

The most striking take-away from the emails is how obsessed the climatologists seemed to be with media coverage – almost as if they were public relations associates as opposed to scientists. The extent of cooperation between the climate researchers and some friendly news outlets is also fascinating. (David Rose has an excellent article exploring the connections between East Anglia and the BBC.)

One New York Times writer, Andy Revkin, pops up numerous times in the emails. During the time the conversations took place, Revkin was a supposedly objective reporter on the environmental beat for the Times. He became an opinion blogger for the paper after leaving the news section at the end of 2009, which seems to be a better fit after reading some of his emails.

In one 2006 exchange between Revkin and the scientists, the reporter makes his disdain for Sen. James Inhofe – and “a big chunk” of the American public – clear, while promoting his book on the Arctic:

No, we probably can't. Cutting back carbon emissions enough to make a difference would require either a major technological breakthrough, something like practical cold fusion, or else a level of international cooperation unprecedented in human history. Neither one seems likely in the short term at least.

Absolutely, and let's get the discussion out of the political arena. It's bad enough that pundits have made it a right wing/left wing issue instead of a scientific one, but they actually have people believing what they have to say.

First, your conclusion that CO2 causes AGW is incorrect. There are no credible sources proving conclusively that rising CO2 levels causes warming and conversely there is no proof that lowering CO2 will reduce warming. So, your entire thinking is based on something that is unproven.

Politics has infected the science community as it relates to AGW. The infection is entirely Leftist based. As such, we must question all conclusions or evidence promoted by that community. Remember the leftist motto? Let me remind you..."the ends justify the means"...just ask me if you need it explained.

You claim all scientists accept AGW as fact...that the debate is over. Funny...that is just what your buddy Al Gore says.

hahahahahaaaaa you got duped again.

Yes, I'm aware of all of that. I heard it on Hannity, and again on Limbaugh. If those two notable scientists say it, then it must be so. So much for every scientific organization on the planet, including the ones sponsored by private entities. If Rush and Shaun say it isn't so, then it just isn't so.

Sarcasm? Do your really think that might be?

NASA recently discovered that the trapping effect of CO2 commonly used by all those scientific organizations is quite notably overstated. Don't kow if you find them credible or not (not sarcasm they have some credibility issues) but combined with the warming having ceased over the last 15 years despite increasing CO2 levels certainly calls the previous conclusions into question.

I do not listen to Rush or Hannity much, but you sure could learn a lot by listening to them. Apparently you believe they are the only ones who disapprove of the leftist plot known as AGW. That would make you wrong AGAIN..................

If you would just educate yourself before believing every leftist plot, you would be much more informed.
